Love, lust, and other L words will soon be in the air.

That’s because Showtime has confirmed that we will finally be getting a sequel to The L Word.

The original series, which came out (ahem) in 2004, was revolutionary for its depiction of lesbian relationships at a time when the LGBTQ community was under-represented on screen.

A decade after we bid farewell to the original characters, we will be receiving a follow-up to find out just how they’re getting on.

The sequel to The L Word has been in the works for more than a year and has received an 7-episode order with Marja-Lewis Ryan serving as executive producer and showrunner.

Additional executive producers will include Ilene Chaiken, who is responsible for creating the original show, as well as stars Jennifer Beals, Katherine Moennig, and Leisha Hailey.

The trio will also be returning to reprise their roles in the new series, which is expected to air later this year.
