The Stand is about an apocalyptic version of a world that’s been decimated by plague and the people have to choose between good and evil. The fate of mankind falls upon 108-year-old Mother Abagail (Whoopi Goldberg) and the rest of the survivors. Their worst nightmares are in the form of Randall Flagg (Alexander Skarsgård), the Dark Man, who has unspeakable powers.

“The world is now a blank page, make your stand,” Whoopi Goldberg’s Mother Abagail says in the new trailer.

Also in the nine-episode limited-event series are James Marsden, Odessa Young, Jovan Adepo, Amber Heard, Owen Teague, Henry Zaga, Brad William Henke, Irene Bedard, Nat Wolff, Eion Bailey, Heather Graham, Katherine McNamara, Fiona Dourif, Natalie Martinez, Hamish Linklater, Daniel Sunjata, and Greg Kinnear.
