“The Umbrella Academy” Season Two Will Include Three New Characters

Dante Albidone, Aidan Gallagher, Cameron Brodeur, Eden Cupid, Ethan Hwang, and Blake Talabis in "The Umbrella Academy"

The next season of Netflix’s The Umbrella Academy will see the cast getting a boost with three additional actors joining the existing seven existing core academy members. The network announced that Rita Arya who played in Humans, Yusuf Gatewood from Good Omens and Marin Ireland from Y: The Last Man will join the cast.

It seems that the three will not play characters from the original comics and that the series is ready (they hope) to spread its own wings and strike out with its own stories. Two of the three new actors are a bit too old to play characters from the original 43 babies that were born with special powers.

Arya’s character, Lila, was described as an “unpredictable, mischievous and sarcastic with a twisted sense of humor.” She was also described as a chameleon. Raymond, who will be played by Gatewood is described as “a born leader with the smarts, gravitas and the confidence to never have to prove it to anyone.”

Ireland will play Sissy who is described as “a fearless, no-nonsense Texas mom who married young for all the wrong reasons. Still in her prime, she’s eager to rediscover what life and love have to offer.”

The new season is yet to have a confirmed release date.
