The Weeknd’s After Hours era was a gift that kept on giving and it produced more epic singles, videos, and live performances than we can count, but the next chapter of his journey is dawning upon us. The Canadian singer gave us a taste of things to come with his new single “Take My Breath”.

The Matrix-inspired video for this song was directed by Cliqua and it takes us inside a wild rave. It was previously announced it will be played before the IMAX showings of The Suicide Squad, but these plans were canceled due to intense strobing effects that could potentially lead to seizures.

“Take My Breath” is expected to be featured on The Weeknd’s upcoming fifth studio album, being developed under the working title The Dawn. Not much is known about it right now, apart from the fact that he started plotting it while in quarantine.

After Hours notably didn’t feature any collaborations, apart from several remixes that followed its release, but things could be different the next time around. In a recent interview with GQ, The Weeknd expressed interest in collaborating with Kanye West, Tyler, the Creator, and Arca in a nearby feature.
