“The Witcher” Announces Who Will Be Cast As Eskel In Season Two

Henry Cavill in "The Witcher"

The Witcher has announced who will be taking on the role of Eskel in the new season.

The news comes following Thue Ersted Rasmussen’s departure from the series. Rasmussen was forced to quit due to complications caused by the pandemic.

Rasmussen had already appeared in scenes that were filmed earlier in the year but unfortunately, these will need to be redone with the new Eskel actor. Today, it was revealed that Basil Eidenbenz will be the man taking on the role. You may be familiar with Eidenbenz if you are a fan of the drama series The Athena or Victoria.

When announcing his departure from The Witcher, Rasmussen said in a statement, “it’s heartbreaking, of course, but I mostly feel happy and grateful for the days I got to spend on set earlier this year. Everyone was extremely engaged and passionate about the project and it was a truly inspiring experience.”

The Witcher will return for season two in summer/fall 2021.
