Tina Turner’s husband didn’t just give her the gift of love—he gave her the gift of life!
The Private Dancer singer has revealed that she underwent a kidney transplant a few years ago, with the organ having been donated by her husband.
The 78 year old has been with German music executive Erwin Bach since 1986, with the pair having been married for the last 5 years.
In her upcoming autobiography entitled Tina Turner: My Love Story, the Queen of Rock ‘n Roll divulged that she suffered from kidney disease, and by 2016 her kidneys were at “20 percent and plunging rapidly.”
At this point, her husband offered to donate one of his own, both shocking and overwhelming her.
So what’s love got to do with it?
Everything, apparently.
