“True Detective” Has a Release Date for Season 3

Things will be getting dark come January.

HBO has announced that the new year is set to open with the third awaited season of True Detective.

The first season of the series came out in 2014 and starred Woody Harrelson of Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri, and The Dallas BuyersClub actor Matthew McConaughey as the pair of detectives solving a cultish murder.

The show’s second season saw Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them star Colin Farrell and Vince Vaughn from Dragged Across Concrete fill the lead roles.

Moonlight star Mahershala Ali will play the lead in the third part of the anthology, which will also feature Carmen Ejogo, Stephen Dorff, Ray Fisher, Michael Greyeyes, Jon Tenney, Deborah Ayorinde, Rhys Wakefield, Sarah Gadon, Emily Nelson, Brandon Flynn, Michael Graziadei, Josh Hopkins, Jodi Balfour, and Mamie Gummer.

Season 3 of True Detective will premiere on the 13th of January.
