The fourth season of the action crime drama Walker is currently airing on The CW, but it will also mark its final chapter. After lengthy discussions about the show’s future, The CW bosses decided not to renew it for Season 5.

Based on ’90s western Walker, Texas Ranger starring Chuck Norris, Jared Padalecki-led reboot sees the legendary Texas ranger Cordell Walker trying to put his house in order after coming back home to Austin following a lengthy undercover mission.

The future of Walker has been uncertain ever since The CW excluded it from their fall schedule, and things became even more bleak when they were ordered to dismantle the sets in Austin, Texas. The network eventually released a statement announcing the show’s cancelation and thanked its cast and crew for bringing Walker’s story to life.

Leading man Jared Padalecki addressed the show’s cancelation on social media and thanked the show’s passionate fanbase for supporting them for all these years.

“It’s a tough piece of news to be sure, but we are SO thankful for the #WalkerFamily that has been built, both on set and off. After four seasons together, we have felt the love and support from the entire #WalkerFamily, and we will be forever grateful,” he wrote on Instagram.
