What We Do in the Shadows was one of the biggest sleeper hits to premiere on FX in recent years, but its ending is on the horizon. FX viewers are getting ready to wave goodbye to their favorite Staten Island vampires after the network announced this series would end with Season 6.

What We Do in the Shadows draws inspiration from Taika Waititi and Jemaine Clement’s hit 2014 film of the same name, but it follows a brand-new group of vampires navigating the complexities of the modern world.

The series centered on Nandor the Relentless (Kayvan Novak), Leslie “Laszlo” Cravensworth (Matt Berry), Nadja of Antipaxos (Natasia Demetriou), and Colin Robinson (Mark Proksch), a group of vampire roommates living in New York City’s Staten Island.

Following its premiere in 2019, What We Do in the Shadows built a passionate fanbase, both with fans of the original film and new viewers alike. It also found success with the critics and went on to receive 21 Emmy nominations, including two for the outstanding comedy series.

FX is yet to share details about the show’s final season, but it will most likely feature ten episodes and see all the major cast members return to their respective roles.
