“Baby Driver” Sequel Potentially on the Road

Ansel Elgort in "Baby Driver"

Edgar Wright has teased a potential Baby Driver sequel.

Baby Drive won best film at the VO5 NME Awards 2018 and is currently rated a respectable 93% on Rotten Tomatoes. The feature saw Ansel Elgort as Baby, a music-loving orphan who has been blackmailed into working as a criminal gateway driver.

Rumors of a second movie have been in circulation for a while now. Back in September, Wright said that he had ideas for a sequel in the works.

“I’ve definitely got lots of ideas. Whether it’s the next movie, I don’t know. I’m just working that out at the moment, actually,” he said. “I have a couple of things that I’ve been developing, and also a couple of new ideas that I had, and all the nice things that I’ve been offered since.”

This week, in celebration of Baby Driver’s first birthday, Wright teased the possibility of a sequel via an Instagram post:

“‘Baby Driver’ was released one year ago today. Had a wild ride with it in the last 365 days. so I thank you for all your beautiful responses, it means everything,” he wrote.

“And who knows, maybe he could get back on the road soon…”

Here’s hoping.
