David Attenborough is set to collaborating with the rapper, Dave, for a new wildlife special.
The special will be titled Planet Earth: A Celebration. It will feature music from the rapper Dave as well as from the film composer Hans Zimmer. The music will accompany sequences from Attenborough’s Planet Earth II and Blue Planet II.
Attenborough has recorded new voiceovers for the special. Zimmer has reworked the original score from the documentaries and has added several new compositions. Dave, the rapper, will perform on a grand piano alongside the BBC Concert Orchestra.
“I’ve always been a fan of powerful natural history documentaries,” Dave said about the collaboration. “This is a program where nature and music come together, so it was only right that I lent my talent, my time, and my attention to this project. It was a pleasure to work alongside Sir David Attenborough and Hans Zimmer.”
Zimmer said: “Working with David on so many of his magnificent programs celebrating nature and our planet has been a joy for me. I am constantly inspired by what he is able to capture, and the collection of sequences featured in Planet Earth: A Celebration is truly special.”
Planet Earth: A Celebration will air on the BBC at the end of August.
