Ti West’s X series gave us two amazing slasher films and the third sequel is finally on the horizon. Mia Goth returns as Maxine Minx in the first trailer for MaXXXine, which sees her trying to take Hollywood by storm during the ’80s, while a serial killer is on the loose.
Maxine Minx was the only survivor of the bloody massacre in rural Texas in the first X film, and the stakes will be higher than ever when she returns in this highly-anticipated sequel.
“In 1980s Hollywood, adult film star and aspiring actress Maxine Minx finally gets her big break. But as a mysterious killer stalks the starlets of Hollywood, a trail of blood threatens to reveal her sinister past,” reads A24’s official logline.
MaXXXine is the third film in the X trilogy directed by Ti West and starring Mia Goth, following the success of X and its acclaimed prequel Pearl, which also centered on a young woman who aspired to be a movie star before finding herself on a deathly path.
MaXXXine will hit the theatres on July 5, and it will also star Kevin Bacon, Bobby Cannavale, Elizabeth Debicki, Moses Sumney, Michelle Monaghan, Lily Collins, Halsey, and Giancarlo Esposito.
