The White Lotus took us to Hawaii and Italy over the course of the first two seasons, but it’s finally time to pack our bags and head to Asia. The third season of the acclaimed anthology series is on the way, and it will reportedly be taking place in Thailand.

After a lot of speculations about the setting of Season 3, Variety broke the news, reporting that Mike White and his team are now heading to Thailand. He previously said that Season 3 will give us a “satirical and funny look at death in Eastern religion and spirituality.”

The executive producer David Bernad also teased a possible setting in Asia, telling Deadline, “We’ve tried to work in Asia a lot and hopefully season three will be our chance to make something happen there.”

Considering that the previous two seasons were filmed in Four Seasons hotels in Maui, Hawaii, and Sicily, Italy, several potential locations already emerged, including Four Seasons Tented Camp Golden Triangle, Four Seasons Resort Chiang Mai, Four Seasons Resort Koh Samui, and Four Seasons Bangkok.

The White Lotus premiered on HBO in 2021, and it won ten Primetime Emmy Awards and two Golden Globes so far. Each season takes place at a new White Lotus hotel, where its guests struggle to enjoy an idyllic vacation while grappling with their personal demons.
