Ryan Reynolds Brings Our Favorite Pokémon to Life

Ryan Reynolds in "Pokémon Detective Pikachu"

Ryan Reynolds knew life would end up this way…

The Deadpool actor has swapped out his dirty mouth and replaced it, instead, with two familiar words — “pika pika.”

The 42 year old is providing the voice of everyone’s favorite Pokémon in Pokémon Detective Pikachu, which is due out in May 2019.

In the newly-released trailer, the little yellow character can be seen wearing a detective hat and teaming up with the film’s protagonist, played by Justice Smith of Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, who seems to be the only one able to decipher his “pikas”.

Ryan drew attention to his fate by tweeting, “I think we all knew I’d wind up as a miniature detective repeatedly saying the same two words. Just didn’t think it’d be this soon. #PikaPika #DetectivePikachu”.

Pikachuuu!
