]]>Beyoncé’s cover of The Beatles classic “Blackbird” is one for the books and it sees her joining forces with some of country’s leading Black female artists, including Brittney Spencer, Reyna Roberts, Tanner Adell, and Tiera Kennedy.
Beyoncé took inspiration from the country legend Dolly Parton and covered her timeless hit “Jolene” on Cowboy Carter. The defiant new version sees her rewriting its lyrics to reflect her own journey.
In addition to covering “Jolene”, Beyoncé also collaborated with Parton on two other songs. “Tyrant” emerged as our favorite, and its perfect mix of R&B and country sound makes it one of the album’s catchiest bops.
Miley Cyrus and Beyoncé were both very open about their love for country long before fully embracing this genre, and their collaboration “II Most Wanted” is everything we’ve hoped for—and more!
Post Malone is one of the most unlikely collaborators featured on Cowboy Carter, but he was the perfect choice for “Levii’s Jeans”, which added a dash of playfulness to this album.

]]>Parton’s inclusion created a lot of commotion when she was nominated earlier this year. The singer said she wants to “respectfully bow out” of the consideration because she doesn’t feel she deserved that right. The Rock Hall rejected her withdrawal, saying that the ballots have already been sent to voters and that rock and roll have deep roots in country music.
Parton kicked off her speech by saying, “I’m a rock star now!” and reflected on her hesitation to accept the honor because she “didn’t really feel like [she] had done enough to deserve that.” The country legend added she’s honored and proud to be there despite her initial attempt to withdraw.
The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony took place on November 5 at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles. In addition to Parton, Eminem, and Richie, the list of this year’s inductees also includes singers-songwriters Carly Simon and Pat Benatar, new wave duo Eurythmics, and synth-pop band Duran Duran.

]]>Imagination Library was started more than 20 years ago and mails one book per month to each enrolled child from the time of their birth until they enter kindergarten.
Over 1,600 local communities provide the Imagination Library to almost 850,000 children across the U.S., Canada, the UK, and Australia.
The 9 to 5 singer established the organization in honor of her father who could not read.
This year, the 72-year-old accomplished quite an impressive achievement by donating the 100 millionth book.
The Library of Congress acknowledged the milestone during an event attended by both adults and children.
“Of all the things I’ve done in my life, and it’s been a lot ’cause I’ve been around a long time, this is one of the most precious things and the proudest I am of any program,” Dolly told the audience.
