]]>The Tanu Muino-directed visual sees Lipa showing off her best moves at the Piscina Municipal de Montjuïc in Barcelona. She’s surrounded by a group of synchronized swimmers, who climb the pool tower by the end of the video, and finish their elaborate choreography with Lipa delivering the last line, “You think I’m gonna fall for an illusion?”
“Illusions” was one of the songs that initially inspired her new album Radical Optimism, and she felt things were going in the right direction after recording it.
“When Kevin [Parker] and Danny [L Harle] came together and it was the live drums and the synths and the big music breakdown, in my head the big dance moment, when all those came together it was just a feeling. I had a feeling and I was like, now I have something to bounce off of,” she told Variety.
Radical Optimism will hit the shelves on May 3, and “Illusion” is the third single released from this album, following “Houdini” and “Training Season”.

]]>Lipa released an official statement announcing her new album and said she opted for the title Radical Optimism after a friend introduced her to this term a few years ago.
“It’s a concept that resonated with me, and I became more curious as I started to play with it and weave it into my life. It struck me – the idea of going through chaos gracefully and feeling like you can weather any storm,” said Lipa.
In addition to announcing the album’s title, the Grammy-winning singer also shared the cover art, which shows her floating in an ocean, unfazed by a shark approaching her. She also shared a full tracklist of her new album, which will feature a total of 11 songs.
“Houdini” was released as the album’s lead single back in November and peaked at No. 2 in the UK, in addition to hitting the top ten in many other countries. It was followed by “Training Season”, which Lipa teased during her performance at this year’s Grammys.
Radical Optimism will be released on May 3 via Warner Records.

]]>Barbie: The Album hit the shelves on July 21, to coincide with the release of Greta Gerwig’s critically acclaimed film, which broke several box office records during its opening weekend. Fans of the film couldn’t get enough of this album and helped it set a historic record on the Official Singles Chart in the UK.
Three songs from this soundtrack made it to the top five, including “What Was I Made For” by Billie Eilish, “Dance the Night” by Dua Lipa, and “Barbie World” by Nicki Minaj and Ice Spice. Barbie: The Album thus broke the record for most songs from a single soundtrack to simultaneously chart in the top five.
To make the whole thing even better, this album also set the record for most songs from a single soundtrack in the top 40 with a total of six entries. “Speed Drive” by Charli XCX, “I’m Just Ken” by Ryan Gosling, and “Pink” by Lizzo are among the songs that made the cut.
Barbie: The Album was produced by Mark Ronson, and it featured some of pop music’s biggest names, including Sam Smith, PinkPantheress, Karol G, Ava Max, and FIFTY FIFTY.

]]>The Dave Meyers-directed video draws inspiration from the tale of Hansel and Gretel, and Stallion came up with the concept for this visual herself. It’s stylish and gory at the same time, and it shows the two singers luring men into their forest hideaway, where they face dire consequences.
Stallion is no stranger to A-list collaborations, and joining forces with Lipa made total sense for her. She wants to be more organic with her collaborations in the future, but teaming up with the British hitmaker was a no-brainer after hearing how amazing the mashups of their music sounded.
“I felt like [‘Sweetest Pie’] was right because it felt right for both of us … I want us to both really thrive on it and really shine. So when I heard it, I was like, ‘Okay, this is my type of beat, my 808, my drums. But I feel like it’s a good vibe for her,’” Stallion told Zane Lowe.
“Sweetest Pie” will be featured on Stallion’s upcoming second studio album, but she’s yet to share any details about this record.
