]]>Carpenter tapped the Wednesday star Ortega to star in the music video for “Taste”, and this duo truly took us on one wild, bloody vibe. They spend the full three minutes using everything from chainsaws to machetes to murder each other because they’re both in love with the same guy, but eventually decide to mend fences and move on after attending his funeral by each other’s side.
The Dave Meyers-directed visual is filled with many film references, and it’s a true love letter to the 90s horror comedy Death Becomes Her. Several more iconic films are honored in the video, including Psycho, Addams Family Values, Ginger Snaps, and Kill Bill.
The music video for “Taste” hit the shelves along with the rest of Carpenter’s new studio album Short n’ Sweet on August 23. She did a great job promoting this record and gave us two amazing songs ahead of its release – the global smash hit “Espresso” and her first No. 1 single in the US, “Please Please Please”.
