]]>Jackpot! is set in the near future, where the popular show Grand Lottery offers a multi-billion-dollar fortune—while also letting people kill the winner before sundown to legally claim their jackpot.
Katie Kim (Awkwafina) mistakenly finds herself with the winning ticket in her possession after moving to Los Angeles. She joins forces with an amateur lottery protection agent Noel Cassidy (John Cena) in an attempt to survive the hordes of jackpot hunters trying to kill her including Noel’s slick rival Louis Lewis (Simu Liu).
In addition to Awkwafina, Cena, and Liu, the cast of this action comedy will also include Murray Hill (Somebody Somewhere), Seann William Scott (American Pie), Dolly de Leon (Triangle of Sadness), and Ayden Mayeri (I Love That For You). It was directed by Paul Feig (Bridesmaids), while Rob Yescombe wrote the script.
Jackpot! will debut on Amazon Prime Video on August 15.

]]>Per Deadline, “Vacation Friends is about a straight-laced couple that has fun with a rowdy couple on vacation in Mexico. When they return to the States, they discover that the crazy couple they met in Mexico followed them back home.”
This will be the directorial debut for Clay Tarver, executive producer of Silicon Valley. Producing is Todd Gardner who’s worked with Cena before in Playing with Fire.
The film has been in the making since 2014 when Fox bought the spec script from co-writing brothers Tom and Tim Mullen. Initially, Chris Pratt and Anna Farris (who were still married at the time) were supposed to star in the film. Ice Cube was also supposed to be featured in the film.
