]]>Madonna spent the past few months touring the world, and she found a perfect way to wrap up her career-spanning The Celebration Tour. Back in late March, she announced its final concert would be held on May 4 at Copacabana Beach and described it as her “biggest gig yet”.
The Queen of Pop wanted to thank her fans “for celebrating more than four decades of her music over the course of the epic global run of the tour” and that’s why she made this concert 100% free.
This proved to be one of the best decisions she made during The Celebration Tour, and her fans welcomed it with open arms. She was greeted by a crowd of over a million people when she hit the stage at Copacabana Beach, telling the audience, “Here we are in the most beautiful place in the world. This place is magic.”
City officials reported that 1.6 million people showed up to watch Madonna perform her biggest hits alongside special guests Anitta and Pabllo Vittar. This number is quite historic, and it set a new record for the largest concert by a standalone artist.

]]>“Please forgive this unexpected turn of events. Doing my show every night brings me so much joy and to cancel is a kind of punishment for me, but the pain I’m in right now is overwhelming, and I must rest and follow doctor’s orders so I can come back stronger and better and continue the Madame X journey with all of you.”
The “Like a Prayer” singer was scheduled to perform between November 30 to December 2.
Madonna canceled tour dates in the past for production issues and injuries. She last canceled a show in L.A this month.
The news was later confirmed by the tour’s promoter, Live Nation, “As we are unable to reschedule the Boston dates due to the tight scheduling through the balance of the year, refunds will be automatically issued to the credit card on which they were ordered.”
The singer is scheduled to perform next in Philidelphia on December 7. There haven’t been any other cancellations yet.
