]]>The comic’s titular character, created by Milestone Media and DC Comics first appeared in 1993’s Static Vol. 1 comic for Milestone Comics. His superpowers are a result of interaction with a radioactive substance, giving the hero the ability to control electromagnetic fields.
Jordan confirmed the news that he has officially boarded the movie adaptation of the comic with a very low-key tweet. According to multiple outlets, he’ll produce the pic through his Warner Bros-based Outlier Society banner.
“I’m proud to be a part of building a new universe centered around Black superheroes; our community deserves that,” Jordan said in a statement. “Outlier Society is committed to bringing to life diverse comic book content across all platforms and we are excited to partner with Reggie and Warner Bros. on this initial step.”

]]>Warner Bros’ Methuselah has singed Boyle to direct from a script by Simon Beaufoy. Beaufoy will re-work a draft penned by Tony Gilroy. Boyle and Beaufoy worked together in the past on Slumdog Millionaire and 127 Hours.
According to Variety, the original concept for the film was based on the Biblical story of a man who lived to be 969 years old, but that has reportedly changed, and the creative team is taking a new approach with the plot, and are considering making the project a franchise.
Jordan is also producing the film with Alana Mayo, as well as Boyle and Jeffrey Clifford. which was based on a treatment by James Watkins.
