]]>The script for Eternity hails from Patrick Cunnane and it appeared on the 2022 Black List, while David Freyne is coming on board as a director. It’s been described as a romantic comedy in which characters must decide who they want to spend eternity with.
Da’Vine Joy Randolph joined this project in a mystery role, and she’ll be in pretty good company. Eternity will also star Miles Teller (Top Gun: Maverick) and Elizabeth Olsen (WandaVision), who’ll be credited as executive producers, plus Callum Turner (Masters of the Air).
2023 has been a pretty eventful year for Da’Vine Joy Randolph, who starred in two acclaimed films—Rustin and The Holdovers. The supporting role in the latter won her multiple accolades, including the Academy Award for the best actress in a supporting role.
Randolph will next be seen in the fourth season of Only Murders in the Building. She’s also attached to Joe Carnahan’s action-thriller Shadow Force and Simone West’s action-comedy Bride Hard.

]]>Paramount Pictures expressed their interest to do Top Gun sequel all the way back in 2010. It took years to get the project off the ground, especially after the original director Tony Scott passed away. Producer Jerry Bruckheimer stayed committed, and the movie was green-lighted after Tom Cruise and Val Kilmer decided to come back.
Having Maverick and Iceman on board gave wings to this sequel, but there was still something missing. Maverick’s BFF Nick “Goose” Bradshaw couldn’t possibly return since he died in the first film. Screenwriters found a way to include his son in Top Gun 2, and Teller ended up beating out the likes of Nicholas Hoult and Glen Powell to win this role.
Joseph Kosinski, who already worked with both Cruise and Teller, will direct the upcoming Top Gun sequel. The plot is still under wraps, but it will probably center on Maverick mentoring younger pilots. The movie will premiere on July 11th, 2019 and it already seems like a quintessential summer blockbuster.
