]]>The Christian Breslauer-directed visual opens with Grande preparing a love potion for Badgley’s Max Starling, the new mayor of her city. When a stray cat comes through a window and breaks the bottle, Grande tries to fix the damage, before going full Catwoman on her love interest.
She breaks into Badgley’s home, but he falls for her before she’s even able to use the potion. The end credits show the duo living their happily ever after, with a bunch of cats by their side.
In addition to Badgley, the music video for “The Boy is Mine” also stars Brandy and Monica, whose 1998 hit of the same name served as inspiration for this song. They play a duo of news anchors announcing the mayor’s press conference at the start of the video.
“The Boy is Mine” was released as the third single from Grande’s latest studio album Eternal Sunshine, which hit the shelves back in March and debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart.

]]>For 6 years, the sultry, disembodied voice would divulge all the scandalous details about the lives of Serena van der Woodsen, Blake Waldorf, Chuck Bass, and “Lonely Boy.”
The show — which is based on the literary series of the same name — ran between 2007 and 2012, and scooped up no less than 18 Teen Choice Awards.
Despite being off the circuit for 6 years, and Gossip Girl’s elusive identity finally being revealed (spoiler alert: it isn’t Kristen Bell!), fans of the series still hope for a return to the Upper East Side.
So, when Penn Badgley — aka Dan Humphrey — was at the premiere of his new series on Lifetime, You, Variety asked the 31-year-old asked if a reunion might be on the cards.
“I suppose you should never say never,” he said. “I suppose there are conditions where I would. Do I think those conditions will ever exist? No. But they might…”
Let’s hope Lonely Boy changes his mind.
