Taylor Swift is no stranger to winning big at the MTV Video Music Awards, and her domination continued at this year’s ceremony. She added seven more trophies to her impressive collection, including another video of the year award for “Fortnight” ft. Post Malone.

“Fortnight” defeated Ariana Grande’s “We Can’t Be Friends (Wait for Your Love)”, Billie Eilish’s “Lunch”, Doja Cat’s “Paint the Town Red”, Eminem’s “Houdini”, and SZA’s “Snooze” to win video of the year, and this wasn’t a first for Swift.

She holds the record for most wins in this category with five, having previously won with “Bad Blood” (2015), “You Need to Calm Down” (2019), “All Too Well” (2022), and “Anti-Hero” (2023).

In addition to being named the video of the year, “Fortnight” led the way in four more categories – best collaboration, song of the summer, best editing, and best direction. Swift won two more Moon Person trophies on her own, including artist of the year and best pop.

Despite dominating this year’s MTV VMAs, the award for song of the year slipped through Swift’s fingers and went to Sabrina Carpenter. She won big with her smash hit “Espresso”, which also defeated Beyoncé’s “Texas Hold ‘Em”, Jack Harlow’s “Lovin on Me”, Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us”, and Teddy Swims’ “Lose Control”.

The 2024 MTV VMAs took place on September 11 at the UBS Arena in Elmont, New York, with Megan Thee Stallion serving as a host.

The MTV Video Music Awards are returning to New York in about a month, and we finally know who’ll be competing for those shiny trophies. Taylor Swift and Post Malone are leading the way in the wake of the chart-topping success of their collaboration “Fortnight”.

“Fortnight” will enter the ceremony as the night’s most-nominated song and one of the contenders for the video of the year. Ariana Grande’s “We Can’t Be Friends (Wait for Your Love)”, Billie Eilish’s “Lunch”, Doja Cat’s “Paint the Town Red”, Eminem’s “Houdini”, and SZA’s “Snooze” have also been nominated in this field.

“Fortnight” also secured a nod for the coved song of the year award, and it’s the only video of the year nominee to make the cut. “Beyoncé’s “Texas Hold ‘Em”, Jack Harlow’s “Lovin on Me”, Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us”, Sabrina Carpenter’s “Espresso”, and Teddy Swims’ “Lose Control” took the remaining five spots in this category.

Swift and Malone will enter the ceremony with ten and nine nominations, respectively, followed by Ariana Grande, Sabrina Carpenter, and Eminem with six nods each. Megan Thee Stallion and SZA are right behind with five nominations apiece.

The 2024 MTV VMAs ceremony will take place on September 10 at UBS Arena in Elmont, New York.

Post Malone and Morgan Wallen made quite a splash with their duet “I Had Some Help”, and its chart domination is officially upon us. The duo’s hit collaboration easily climbed to the top of the Billboard Hot 100 chart, with the highest streaming numbers in four years.

“I Had Some Help” debuted at No. 1 with 76.4 million official streams, 31.1 million radio airplay audience impressions, and 69,000 sold during its first week on the chart. Its streaming numbers are quite impressive, and it managed to score the highest single-week streaming figure since 2020.

“I Had Some Help” is Post Malone’s second collaboration to soar to the top of the Billboard Hot 100 chart this year, following the success of Taylor Swift’s “Fortnight”. It’s also his sixth No. 1 single overall, and the list also includes his hit songs “Rockstar” feat. 21 Savage, “Psycho,” feat. Ty Dolla $ign, “Sunflower” feat. Swae Lee, and the solo single “Circles”.

As for Wallen, “I Had Some Help” is his second song to top the Billboard Hot 100 after “Last Night”, which spent 16 non-consecutive weeks at No. 1 last year.

In addition to topping the Billboard Hot 100 chart, “I Had Some Help” also hit No. 1 on the  Hot Country Songs and Global 200 chart.

Taylor Swift’s The Tortured Poets Department is one of the buzziest albums to hit the shelves this spring, and it’s given us some amazing new tracks. Swift never had trouble starting a conversation with her songs, and here are five that got everyone talking.

“Fortnight” ft. Post Malone

Released as the lead single from Tortured Poets, “Fortnight” sees Swift joining forces with Post Malone. It perfectly illustrates the album’s themes and serves as the string connecting the rest of the album.

“So Long, London”

Songs on Swift’s latest album walk a fun line between vulnerable and vengeful, and “So Long, London” is definitely one of its most personal songs—and also the very best.

“The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived”

Fans believe that many of the songs on Swift’s latest album are inspired by her brief relationship with Matty Healy, and she’s given us many Easter eggs on “The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived”.

“But Daddy I Love Him”

In addition to seeing her explore another doomed romance, “But Daddy I Love Him” also sees Swift getting brutally honest about the parasocial relationship the public has with her, with the scathing line “God save the most judgmental creeps /Who say they want what’s best for me.”

“Florida!!!” ft. Florence Welch

At its core, Tortured Poets is a vindictive breakup album, but it also features a few songs that are just there for fun, and the Florence Welch collaboration “Florida!!!” is a case in point.

Beyoncé put her own spin on country music with her new album Cowboy Carter, and she didn’t do it all alone. Queen B shared the spotlight with many amazing artists and gave us several collaborations that knocked us off our feet, starting with these five.

“Blackbird” Cover

Beyoncé’s cover of The Beatles classic “Blackbird” is one for the books and it sees her joining forces with some of country’s leading Black female artists, including Brittney Spencer, Reyna Roberts, Tanner Adell, and Tiera Kennedy.

“Jolene” Cover

Beyoncé took inspiration from the country legend Dolly Parton and covered her timeless hit “Jolene” on Cowboy Carter. The defiant new version sees her rewriting its lyrics to reflect her own journey.

“Tyrant” ft. Dolly Parton

In addition to covering “Jolene”, Beyoncé also collaborated with Parton on two other songs. “Tyrant” emerged as our favorite, and its perfect mix of R&B and country sound makes it one of the album’s catchiest bops.

“II Most Wanted” ft. Miley Cyrus

Miley Cyrus and Beyoncé were both very open about their love for country long before fully embracing this genre, and their collaboration “II Most Wanted” is everything we’ve hoped for—and more!

“Levii’s Jeans” ft. Post Malone

Post Malone is one of the most unlikely collaborators featured on Cowboy Carter, but he was the perfect choice for “Levii’s Jeans”, which added a dash of playfulness to this album.
