]]>It has been almost 4 years since the world lost one of its funniest individuals when the Dead Poets Society actor took his own life in his California home in August 2014.
Sotheby’s auction house has now confirmed that several items belonging to the comedian will be going under the hammer in October.
The belongings include several pieces of artwork which include sculptures and street art by Banksy, Shepard Fairey, and Invader; a collection of over 40 watches which the Oscar winner owned; film and sports memorabilia; as well as a series of bicycles.
Also amongst the items is the famous Gryffindor robe worn by Daniel Radcliffe’s titular character in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone which is estimated to be worth between $10,000 and $15,000.
Part of the proceeds from the Creating a Stage lot will be donated to charities supported by Williams and his widow, movie producer Marsha Garces Williams, such as the Juilliard School, Wounded Warrior Project, the Challenged Athletes Foundation and the Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation.

Several amazing things came out of the new Star Wars movies. The greatest gift is unquestionably Kylo Ren, masterfully portrayed by Adam Driver of “Girls” fame. Kylo instantly received a reputation for being moody and emo, launching the character into instant meme-dome. Driver embraced that reputation by moping around off-set. Fans who believed that the Vader fanboy was genuinely sad felt compelled to give him hugs in attempt to make him feel better.
Robin Williams, RIP, is still making us laugh. As Mrs. Doubtfire, one of his most iconic characters, Williams got up to some naughty antics. Before he started filming the movie, Robin dressed himself out in full Doubtfire regalia and then headed to a San Francisco sex shop in a bid to see if anyone recognized him. Spoiler alert: they did.
Have you ever heard about an actor getting up to some craziness while in-costume?

]]>Elf was a surprise hit, and it’s one Christmas film most of us will watch year after year. It was no wonder the studio wanted to make a sequel and cash in on that popularity. Will Ferrell said no, even when offered almost $30 million. He didn’t want to do a bad sequel for the money, but now we’ll never know just how bad that sequel would’ve been.
After Pulp Fiction, John Travolta was the big thing in movies again. So when he was cast in the film The Double, a Roman Polanski movie. Except his child needed surgery and him up and left France where the movie was being filmed so he could get the best care. And then never spoke to the director again. The lawsuit was finally settled out of court and the film was never made.
At the height of his career, Robin Williams stole our hearts in films like Mrs. Doubtfire. Sequels weren’t quite the norm in the nineties that they are now but we all would’ve flocked to a Mrs. Doubtfire 2. However, Williams had problems with the script and didn’t agree to make the sequel until 2014, the year he sadly passed away.
