The Screen Actors Guild Awards returned to Los Angeles this Saturday night to celebrate the best film and television performances of the past year. Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer dominated the ceremony with three wins, along with the FX dramedy The Bear.

Oppenheimer was one of the main contenders for the outstanding performance by a cast in a motion picture, and it managed to beat American Fiction, Barbie, The Color Purple, and Killers of the Flower Moon to win the shiniest trophy of the night.

The Bear was the biggest winner on the TV side with three accolades, including individual awards for its leads Jeremy Allen White and Ayo Edebiri, plus a coveted award for the outstanding performance by an ensemble in a comedy series.

Another SAG Awards are behind us, and they brought quite a few historic surprises our way. Everything Everywhere All At Once managed to win a total of four awards, including outstanding performance by a cast in a motion picture, and became the most-awarded film in the show’s history.

Everything Everywhere managed to beat Babylon, The Banshees of Inisherin, The Fabelmans, and Women Talking to win outstanding performance by a cast in a motion picture, but this trophy was just the icing on the cake.

By the time the cast of Everything Everywhere picked up the night’s biggest award, Michelle Yeoh, Ke Huy Quan, and Jamie Lee Curtis already won trophies for their individual performances. Yeoh and Quan made history as the first Asian actors to win in their respective categories.

The White Lotus was the biggest winner on the TV side with a total of two awards: outstanding performance by an ensemble in a drama series and outstanding performance by a female actor in a drama series (Jennifer Coolidge). The cast of Abbott Elementary also had a reason to celebrate on Sunday night, after winning the award for outstanding performance by an ensemble in a comedy series.

The 29th Screen Actors Guild Awards took place on February 26, and the ceremony was streamed live on Netflix’s YouTube channel, marking the start of the SAG Awards’ partnership with the streamer.
