]]>Netflix has released the first teaser for The Crown in which The Favourite star actually speaks and she is just as perfect as the monarch as we imagined.
Colman took over from the role from Claire Foy, who played the Queen during the show’s first two seasons, as the series decided to take a time leap and focus on the royal reign during the ‘60s and ‘70s.
“A great many changes. Nothing one can do about it, one just has to get on with it,” Colman’s character says about the Britain over which she currently rules that is dealing with the effects of the Cold War and the race to the moon.
The new cast, who will debut in season 3, also includes Tobias Menzies, Helena Bonham Carter, Josh O’Connor, Erin Doherty, Ben Daniels, Jason Watkins, and Charles Dance.
The Crown returns on November 17th.

]]>The Netflix series, which follows the royal family and all the goings-on within Buckingham Palace, is set to skip several generations when it returns for its 3rd season.
The first two seasons followed the early reign of Queen Elizabeth II who was played by Claire Foy, and her consort Prince Phillip, portrayed by Matt Smith.
The series will now fast-forward to the 1970s where Prince Charles — played by Josh O’Connor of God’s Own Country — is all grown-up and meets Camilla Parker Bowles.
After his marriage to Princess Diana ended, Charles married Camilla.
Producers have now cast Call the Midwife star Emerald Fennell as the future Duchess of Cornwall.
“I’m absolutely over the moon, and completely terrified, to be joining so many hugely talented people on The Crown,” the British actress said. “I absolutely love Camilla, and am very grateful that my teenage years have well prepared me for playing a chain-smoking serial snogger with a pudding bowl hair cut.”
Season 3 of The Crown, starring Olivia Coleman as the monarch and Tobias Menzies as her husband, will premiere in 2019.
