]]>The new series will tackle the theme that drew a lot of attention in recent years—the death of print media. The documentary crew from the original series will follow the publisher trying to revive a dying historic Midwestern newspaper with volunteer reporters.
According to Lisa Katz, president of scripted content for NBCU Entertainment, “this new series set in the universe of Dunder Mifflin introduces a new cast of characters in a fresh setting ripe for comedic storytelling: a daily newspaper.”
Domhnall Gleeson (The Patient) and Sabrina Impacciatore (The White Lotus) will play two of these characters, while the rest of the ensemble cast will be announced ahead of the production start in July.
This spin-off came together after Greg Daniels worked on new ideas with a team of trusted writers this winter. Michael Koman joined him as co-creator and one of the executive producers, along with Ricky Gervais, Stephen Merchant, Howard Klein, Ben Silverman, and Banijay Americas.

]]>It’s been over a decade since the American version of The Office ended its run, and it managed to become an even bigger hit in the era of streaming. It was just a matter of time before its creator Greg Daniels decided to revisit this world, and the new spin-off started taking shape when he opened a development room to explore new ideas back in January.
Daniels joined forces with a group of trusted writers, and Nathan For You co-creator Michael Koman emerged as a standout. He’ll be credited as a co-creator of the new series alongside Daniels, which will be set in a new office with new characters, while existing in the same world as the original series.
Domhnall Gleeson, whose notable credits include the Star Wars franchise and films About Time and Ex Machina, is one of the actors circling this project. Sabrina Impacciatore is also eying one of the key roles, after getting her big break with the Emmy-nominated supporting turn on The White Lotus.

]]>With so many shows being rebooted and revived, it’s no surprise that fans of the US version of The Office are hoping that they will be next in line.
And someone who’s also hoping so is John Krasinski.
The 38-year-old starred as Jim Halpert for all 9 seasons of the NBC sitcom based on the British series by Ricky Gervais.
Speaking to Variety, John shared some of his concerns over just how dear Jim’s life turned out…
“Where is Jim? What is he doing?! I actually don’t know, and I’m actually looking forward to [doing a reunion],” he says. “People have asked if I would do sort of a reunion type thing, and yes, for exactly that reason. I need the incredible writers of our show to tell me what he’s doing because I’m kind of worried about him.”
In The Office finale, Jim and his wife Pam, played by Jenna Fischer, moved to Austin, Texas, so Jim could focus on the sports company he founded with his college friends.
“He had a whole lot of hopes and dreams, he had a lot of zany ideas, and then he went to Austin to live his life and I feel like the dreams are still in his head so let’s see what he’s doing now.”
Yes, let’s!
