“NASA is excited to work with @TomCruise on a film aboard the @Space_Station,” NASA administrator Jim Bridenstine tweeted on Tuesday. “We need popular media to inspire a new generation of engineers and scientists to make @NASA’s ambitious plans a reality.”
The film will be the first narrative feature film to be shot in outer space. While plot details have not been revealed, per Deadline the film will not be an installment of the Mission: Impossible franchise.
