Taylor Swift singlehandedly saved 2020 with the release of her chart-topping album Folklore, and she’s back at it again! Her second surprise album of 2020, titled Evermore is here, and it’s the best early Christmas present we could possibly ask for.

The singer’s latest album hit the shelves on December 11th, only two days before her birthday. She felt it would be a fitting present for her fans because they’ve always been “so caring, supportive and thoughtful” on her birthdays, especially with the holidays just around the corner.

“I also know this holiday season will be a lonely one for most of us and if there are any of you out there who turn to music to cope with missing loved ones the way I do, this is for you,” Swift wrote on Instagram.

The Grammy-winning star described Evermore as Folklore’s sister record because these two albums clearly share similar tones and themes. Instead of treating albums as one-off eras, as she did in the past, she decided to further emerge herself in “epic tales of love lost and found” and came up with an entire new record of dreamlike stories.

Together with Evermore, Swift also released a self-directed music video for the lead single “Willow”, which serves as the album’s opening track.
