Doctor Who fans didn’t have a Christmas special to look forward to this year, but they still had a reason to celebrate. BBC welcomed the holidays by giving us a teaser trailer for the next chapter of the show, which sees the two worlds collide in the most spectacular fashion.

The new teaser gives us a sneak peek at the show’s three-hour 60th-anniversary special, set to premiere on BBC in November. It opens with Catherine Tate’s Donna Noble reminiscing about the past she doesn’t remember saying, “Sometimes, I think there’s something missing. Like I had something lovely and it’s gone.”

David Tennant also makes a comeback, now as the Fourteenth Doctor, but he’s not the only Time Lord we get to see in this teaser. His successor Ncuti Gatwa makes an appearance at the very end asking, “Will someone tell me what the hell is going on here?”

The new teaser also features Neil Patrick Harris and Yasmin Finney, set to star in the show’s 60th-anniversary special. Russell T Davies is returning as showrunner, and he’ll continue his work with BBC when the show returns for Season 14. Ncuti Gatwa will officially take over as the Fifteenth Doctor by that time and his first full episode is expected to premiere over the festive period in 2023.
