Love Island’s Greg O’Shea and Amber Gill have split just a few short weeks after the series finale.

The lovebirds may have met late in the competition but they won over the public and convinced them that their relationship was worth voting for. Now, just a short while after leaving the villa, the couple have decided to go their separate ways.

The split was confirmed by Greg on The Late Late Show Friday evening (September 6). The villa winner addressed rumors that he had broken up with Amber via text.

“First off, the age-old saying, don’t believe everything you read,” Greg said. “I’ll be open and honest… Me and Amber have been chatting the last couple of days, over phone calls – this whole thing about a text just isn’t true. People just want to sell stories.

“We’re mad about each other. I’m mad about her. What’s not to be mad about? Gorgeous, smart, funny personality. Queen of Love Island for a reason. But, you need to be realistic about the situation. She lives in the UK. Every brand wants to work with her, every event wants her there. Of course, she deserves all of it.”

Although Greg said that the couple may give things another go in the future, he clarified that at least for now, the couple are over.
