News of Stallone’s casting was announced by Suicide Squad writer-directed James Gunn via his Twitter account. He wrote, “Always love working with my friend @officialslystallone & our work today on #TheSuicideSquad was no exception. Despite Sly being an iconic movie star, most people still don’t have any idea what an amazing actor this guy is,” alongside a picture of the two. 

Stallone added in a post of his own, “Working with this incredible Director on this astounding project has made this an amazing year. I am a very lucky man to be surrounded by such talent.”

Stallone’s role is being kept under wraps, but considering Gunn previously confirmed that filming had concluded in February, we wonder just how involved Stallone is in the film.

The Suicide Squad is set to release on August 6, 2021. It stars Margot Robbie, Idris Elba, John Cena, Joel Kinnaman, Peter Capaldi, and Viola Davis.

The comedy series has cast Holly Robinson Peete in a major recurring role.

Per Deadline, Peete will play Tami, a close friend of Katie’s (Katy Mixon) before the Ottos moved to Westport. Tami helped new mom Katie a lot, so when Tami relocates to Westport with her eight-year-old daughter, Katie is looking forward to reconnecting with her friend and to returning the favor and helping her out.

Per the official synopsis the comedy series chronicles the daily life of Katie Otto, “a confident, unapologetic wife and mother of three, raises her flawed family in the wealthy town of Westport, Connecticut, filled with perfect’ mommies and their ‘perfect’ offspring.”

The series also stars Diedrich Bader, as husband Greg Otto, and Meg Donnelly and Daniel Dimaggio as the Otto’s teenage daughter and son respectively. 

Peete’s credits includes 21 Jump Street, Hangin’ with Mr. Cooper, and For Your Love.

The Game of Thrones star has signed on the voice star as Princess Charlotte, the daughter of Prince William and Kate Middleton in the animated series from creator Gary Janetti. Janetti announced the casting news via his Instagram account, which also happens to be the inspiration for the series. 

When the series was first announced, Janetti said,“I’m thrilled to be working at HBO Max and bringing them yet another series about a family ruthlessly fighting for the throne.”

Way of the Warriors is scheduled to begin production in late 2020.

Taking over the role from Williams who exited the project due to scheduling conflicts, Chastain will star opposite Oscar Isaac. Chastain and Issac starred together in the feature A Most Violent Year in 2014.

The new version of Scenes From a Marriage, will re-examine the original’s depiction of love, hatred, desire, monogamy, marriage and divorce through the lens of a contemporary American couple.

The project is an adaptation of Ingmar Bergman’s 1970s miniseries. Adapting the classic is Hagai Levi, who is also set to direct. Chastain and Isaac will also executive produce in addition to starring.

News of the casting comes just under a month before the series returns for season 4 on November 15. 

The Crown was originally planned to run for five seasons but showrunner Peter Morgan confirmed that the drama will come back for a sixth and final season earlier this year. 

“As we started to discuss the storylines for Series 5, it soon became clear that in order to do justice to the richness and complexity of the story we should go back to the original plan and do six seasons. To be clear, Series 6 will not bring us any closer to present-day — it will simply enable us to cover the same period in greater detail,” Morgan said.

Seasons 5 and 6 will also star Imelda Staunton as the new Queen Elizabeth II, with Leslie Manville set to play Princess Margaret and Jonathan Pryce portraying Prince Philip.

Actress Gal Gadot and helmer Patty Jenkins are teaming up again for Cleopatra. The talented duo has worked together before on the Jenkins directed Wonder Woman and the upcoming Wonder Woman 1984.

Gadot confimred that she has been cast to play titular character via Twitter.

“As you might have heard I teamed up with PattyJenks and LKalogridis to bring the story of Cleopatra, Queen of Egypt, to the big screen in a way she’s never been seen before. To tell her story for the first time through women’s eyes, both behind and in front of the camera.”

Cleopatra is set at Paramount Pictures. Laeta Kalogridis is set to write the screenplay.

Wonder Woman 1984 is expected to be released in theaters on Christmas Day.

Following last week’s news that Jamie Foxx is coming back to play Electro in the forthcoming Spiderman feature, the third installment of Sony’s franchise, multiple outlets confirm that Benedict Cumberbatch has signed on to return as Doctor Strange in Spiderman 3.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Doctor Strange will take on the role of Iron Man for Tom Holland’s hero, and act as a mentor for SpiderMan.

Zendaya, Marisa Tomei, Jacob Batalon, and Tony Revolori are also expected to reprise their roles in the still untitled superhero pic. 

Filming is set to begin next month with Jon Watts at the helm.

Spiderman 3 is scheduled to open in theaters on December 17, 2021.

The two have been cast in series regulars roles and are set to star opposite previously announced Lindsey Morgan and Jared Padalecki. 

In the series, Padalecki’s Cordell Walker is a widower and father of two who returns home to Austin after being undercover for two years, only to discover there’s harder work to be done at home. He’ll be joined by his new partner Micki (Morgan). 

According to Deadline, Brinson will play Stella Walker, Walker’s teenage daughter. Headstrong and smart as hell, she resents her dad for being absent — and she’s not about to forgive him anytime soon. Her unrest leads her to ask questions Walker isn’t ready to answer.

Culley will portray 14-years-old Arlo Walker. Arlo rabidly consumes information and is eager to learn any skill that will help, please and impress his family. Unlike his sister, he doesn’t want to cause a stir.

In the series, Kat (Bialik), is a 39-year-old woman who struggles every day against society and her mother Sheila (Swoosie Kurtz) to prove that you CANNOT have everything you want and still be happy. Which is why she spent the money her parents set aside for her wedding to open a Cat Café in Louisville, Kentucky. 

Jackson will play Max, Kat’s high school crush who recently returned from teaching overseas and now works as a bartender across the street from the Cat Café. Max is coming off a long-term relationship with an ex whom Kat imagines to be the most beautiful woman in the world, but Max values personality and humor over physical attractiveness.

Penning the series is writer Darlene Hunt. Hunt also executive produces with Bialik and fellow Big Bang alum Jim Parsons.
