After dominating several award shows in the past few months, Shōgun won big at the SAG Awards and walked away with four trophies. It was honored with the award for outstanding performance by an ensemble in a drama series, while its stars Hiroyuki Sanada and Anna Sawai also picked up trophies for their individual performances.
Only Murders in the Building won big in the comedy field, walking away with two awards. In addition to winning the award for outstanding performance by an ensemble in a comedy series, its star Martin Short was honored with the award for outstanding performance by a male actor in a comedy series.
The 2025 Screen Actors Guild Awards were held on February 23 at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, with Kristen Bell returning as host.

]]>After coming into the night with 12 nods, Conclave lived up to the expectations and took some of the top prizes home. It managed to defeat Anora, The Brutalist, A Complete Unknown, and Emilia Pérez to win the BAFTAs’ most coveted prize: best film.
Conclave also came out victorious in the outstanding British film category, beating the likes of Bird, Blitz, Gladiator II, Hard Truths, and Kneecap, in addition to winning awards for best adapted screenplay (Peter Straughan) and best editing (Nick Emerson).
The Brutalist matched its number of wins with four BAFTA trophies, including Adrien Brody’s award for the best actor in the leading role. The list of winners in the acting categories also includes Mikey Madison (Anora), Kieran Culkin (A Real Pain), and Zoe Saldaña (Emilia Pérez).
The 2025 BAFTA Awards were held at the Royal Festival Hall in London on February 16, with David Tennant hosting the ceremony for the second year in a row.

]]>The hit crime musical is one of the main contenders for the best picture award, but taking it home won’t be easy. Anora, The Brutalist, A Complete Unknown, Conclave, Dune: Part Two, I’m Still Here, Nickel Boys, The Substance, and Wicked are also in the running for this coveted prize.
Emilia Pérez also managed to break into many of the main categories of the night, including best director for Jacques Audiard and acting nods for its stars Karla Sofía Gascón and Zoe Saldaña. It’s also in the running for multiple technical and creative awards, starting with best editing, sound, and original song.
In addition to Emilia Pérez, the list of major contenders at the upcoming Academy Awards also includes the hit musical Wicked and the period drama The Brutalist with 10 nods, plus the Bob Dylan biopic A Complete Unknown and the Papal thriller Conclave with eight nominations each.
The 2025 Academy Awards will return to the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles on March 2, with Conan O’Brien hosting the show for the first time.

Conclave also came out victorious in the outstanding British film category, beating the likes of Bird, Blitz, Gladiator II, Hard Truths, and Kneecap, in addition to winning awards for best adapted screenplay (Peter Straughan) and best editing (Nick Emerson).
The Brutalist matched its number of wins with four BAFTA trophies, including Adrien Brody’s award for the best actor in the leading role. The list of winners in the acting categories also includes Mikey Madison (Anora), Kieran Culkin (A Real Pain), and Zoe Saldaña (Emilia Pérez).
The 2025 BAFTA Awards were held at the Royal Festival Hall in London on February 16, with David Tennant hosting the ceremony for the second year in a row.

]]>The hit crime musical is one of the main contenders for the best picture award, but taking it home won’t be easy. Anora, The Brutalist, A Complete Unknown, Conclave, Dune: Part Two, I’m Still Here, Nickel Boys, The Substance, and Wicked are also in the running for this coveted prize.
Emilia Pérez also managed to break into many of the main categories of the night, including best director for Jacques Audiard and acting nods for its stars Karla Sofía Gascón and Zoe Saldaña. It’s also in the running for multiple technical and creative awards, starting with best editing, sound, and original song.
In addition to Emilia Pérez, the list of major contenders at the upcoming Academy Awards also includes the hit musical Wicked and the period drama The Brutalist with 10 nods, plus the Bob Dylan biopic A Complete Unknown and the Papal thriller Conclave with eight nominations each.
The 2025 Academy Awards will return to the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles on March 2, with Conan O’Brien hosting the show for the first time.

Conclave stars Ralph Fiennes and Isabella Rossellini received nominations for their performances in their respective categories.
