After months of anticipation, the Academy Awards nominations have finally been unveiled this Thursday, and the list of contenders is one for the books. After dominating the majority of the awards season, Emilia Pérez will enter the Oscars with 13 nods, but Wicked and The Brutalist are right behind with 10 nominations each.

The hit crime musical is one of the main contenders for the best picture award, but taking it home won’t be easy. Anora, The Brutalist, A Complete Unknown, Conclave, Dune: Part Two, I’m Still Here, Nickel Boys, The Substance, and Wicked are also in the running for this coveted prize.

Emilia Pérez also managed to break into many of the main categories of the night, including best director for Jacques Audiard and acting nods for its stars Karla Sofía Gascón and Zoe Saldaña. It’s also in the running for multiple technical and creative awards, starting with best editing, sound, and original song.

In addition to Emilia Pérez, the list of major contenders at the upcoming Academy Awards also includes the hit musical Wicked and the period drama The Brutalist with 10 nods, plus the Bob Dylan biopic A Complete Unknown and the Papal thriller Conclave with eight nominations each.

The 2025 Academy Awards will return to the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles on March 2, with Conan O’Brien hosting the show for the first time.
