]]>Searchlight Pictures’ official logline describes this film as “a triptych fable”, which includes “segments following a man without choice who tries to take control of his life, a policeman who is alarmed that his wife who was missing at sea has returned and seems to be a different person, and a woman who is determined to find a specific someone destined to become a prodigious spiritual leader.”
Kinds of Kindness will reunite Lanthimos with several of his past collaborators, starting with Stone, who recently won her second Oscar for leading his latest film Poor Things. ]]>The post Emma Stone is Officially Returning for “Cruella” Sequel appeared first on thestarsworldwide.com.
]]>Cruella hit the theaters on May 28th and followed the journey of an aspiring fashion designer and her transformation into Disney’s most fashionable villain, Cruella de Vil. In addition to Stone, the cast of the live-action spin-off 101 Dalmatians also included Emma Thompson, Joel Fry, Paul Walter Hauser, Emily Beecham, Kirby Howell-Baptiste, and Mark Strong.
The potential sequel was announced shortly after the film came out, but its future was in limbo after Scarlett Johansson filed a lawsuit against Disney over the simultaneous release of Black Widow. Her decision left people wondering if Stone would go down the same road since Cruella was released the same way.
Stone, however, chose a different approach, and the executive chairman of her agency Endeavor, Patrick Whitesell, praised Disney’s willingness to recognize her contributions as a creative partner.
“While the media landscape has been disrupted in a meaningful way for all distributors, their creative partners cannot be left on the sidelines… This agreement demonstrates that there can be an equitable path forward that protects artists and aligns studios’ interests with talent,” said Whitesell in a statement.

]]>Emma Stone has had to pull out of the upcoming adaptation of Louisa May Alcott’s novel, Little Women.
The film, by Ladybird director, Greta Gerwig, already boasts a cast which includes Saoirse Ronan, Timothée Chalamet, Meryl Streep, Laura Dern, Florence Pugh, and James Norton.
The La La Land actress is no longer able to join the project as a result of promotional obligations for the Fox Searchlight film, The Favourite.
But worry not, because another Emma will be taking her place.
Enter, Beauty and the Beast actress, Emma Watson!
The irony is that this is not the first time that the two Emmas have swapped roles, as Miss Stone was originally supposed to star in the Disney remake, and Miss Watson in the Oscar-winning musical.
It has not yet been established just which role Emma (Watson) will play in the star-studded production which is scheduled for release in 2019.
