]]>This series was initially conceived as the over-the-pond spin-off of the Showtime series Ray Donovan, but Ritchie and Ronan Bennett later decided to shift the gears and reimagined it as a standalone series. In addition to serving as its writers, they’ll also executive producing this project alongside David C. Glasser, Ron Burkle, Bob Yari, David Hutkin, and Ivan Atkinson.
Despite abandoning its initial concept, The Associate will still be set in the world of London’s most elite fixers. It will reportedly center on “two generations of gangsters, the businesses they run, the complex relationships they weave, and the man they call upon to fix their problems.”
Helen Mirren and Pierce Brosnan will lead the cast as the matriarch and patriarch of a crime family, whose reputation is put at risk. They both made a transition to television in recent years – Mirren with the Yellowstone spin-off 1923, Brosnan with AMC’s western drama The Son. As for Tom Hardy, he’ll play the fixer of the crime family at the center of this series, and this project will mark his first major TV role since Peaky Blinders.

]]>Based on Andy Lane’s series of eight Young Sherlock Holmes novels, this project is an action-packed origin story of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s beloved detective.
“Sherlock Holmes is disgraced, raw, unfiltered, and unformed, when he finds himself caught up in a murder mystery at Oxford University… Diving into his first-ever case with a wild lack of discipline, Sherlock manages to unravel a globe-trotting conspiracy that will change his life forever,” read Amazon Prime Video’s official logline.
Guy Ritchie is coming on board as a director and one of the executive producers, and he said this series will introduce us to an exhilarating new version of the detective everyone thinks they know. Matthew Parkhill wrote the series for Amazon, and he’ll serve as its showrunner.
Hero Fiennes Tiffin’s casting comes shortly after he starred in Ritchie’s most recent film The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare. He’s one of the most sought-after young actors in Hollywood after starring in the After series and has several more projects lined up, including the romantic comedy Picture This and survival thriller Above the Below.
