The post 2023 Grammy Awards: Harry Styles & Lizzo Win Top Accolades, Beyoncé Makes History appeared first on thestarsworldwide.com.
]]>This year’s ceremony was quite historic for Beyoncé, who scored a total of nine nominations to tie the all-time record for the most-nominated artist with her husband Jay-Z. She managed to win four awards on Sunday thanks to her new album Renaissance, becoming the most-awarded artist of all time with a total of 32 trophies.
Harry Styles also had a reason to celebrate after he walked away with two major awards thanks to the success of Harry’s House: album of the year and best pop vocal album. As for Lizzo, she defeated tough competition to win the record of the year with “About Damn Time”.
This year’s Grammy’s delivered a few shockers in the Big Four categories—most notably Bonnie Raitt’s unexpected win for the song of the year with “Just Like That”. It was equally surprising to see the jazz singer Samara Joy collect the trophy for the best new artist, beating the likes of Måneskin, Anitta, and Latto.
The 65th Annual Grammy Awards were held on February 5 at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, with Trevor Noah returning as a host.

]]>Styles’ new album Harry’s House is about a month away, and his headlining Coachella performance was the best promo he could possibly ask for. In addition to teasing several new songs, including “Boyfriends” and “Late Night Talking”, he also welcomed Shania Twain and Lizzo on stage.
Shortly after contemplating retiring from music, Doja Cat used her Coachella performance to prove to the world that she’s here to stay. Her set was as epic as it gets, featuring electrifying costumes and choreography, and one jaw-dropping performance of her biggest hits after another.
Eilish is no stranger to stealing the show at Coachella and she did it once again this year. She was truly the queen of Coachella and her set featured performances of her biggest hits and guest appearances from several guests including Hayley Williams who joined her for a special rendition of “Misery Business”.

]]>“As It Was” hit No. 1 with 43.8 million streams, 27.2 million radio airplay audience impressions, and 10,300 downloads in the US in the week following its release. It’s the second time that Styles topped the Billboard Hot 100 chart—he previously hit No. 1 with “Watermelon Sugar” in 2020.
The triumph of “As It Was” is also pretty interesting since it’s the first song since the beginning of 2022 to debut at No. 1. The list of previous chart-topping singles includes Mariah Carey‘s “All I Want for Christmas”, Adele’s “Easy On Me”, “We Don’t Talk About Bruno” from Encanto, and Glass Animals’ “Heat Waves”.
“As It Was” will be featured on Style’s upcoming third solo studio album Harry’s House, set to be released on May 20. He described it as “the song about metamorphosis, embracing change and former self”, and said it was inspired by his personal experiences, especially during lockdowns, which allowed him to make his new album “from a very liberated place”.

]]>Styles is replacing Shia LeBeouf, who had to leave the project due to a scheduling conflict.
Katie Silberman wrote the screenplay for Don’t Worry, Darling which is based on a script by Shane and Carey Van Dyke. The film is set in the 1950s in an isolated community in the California desert. Details about the plot are being kept under wraps with production set to start this fall.
New Line Cinemas acquired the rights to the film in August 2019, following a bidding war due to the critical acclaim of Wilde’s directorial debut Booksmart.
Styles got his start with the band One Direction and he made his acting debut in Christopher Nolan’s Dunkirk. Nolan told journalists that he cast Styles because “he has an old-fashioned face … the kind of face that makes you believe he could have been alive in that period.”

]]>Fine Line, a 12-track album, was released on December 13. The tracks include, “Lights Up,” “Watermelon Sugar,” “Adore You,” “Golden,” “Cherry,” “To Be So Lonely,” “Sunflower Vol.6,” “She,” “Treat People With Kindness,” “Falling,” “Canyon Moon,” and “Fine Line.” “Lights Up” and “Adore You” both already have music videos.
The singer sat down with Rolling Stones to talk about the tracks on Fine Line, “The overall arc is just that I tried to redefine what success means to me. I tried to rewire what I thought about it. A lot changes in two years, especially after coming out of the band and just working out what life is now. I feel so much freer, making this album — you get to a place where you feel happy even if the song is about the time when you weren’t that happy.”
Styles spent six weeks recording the album at Shangri-La studio in Malibu while wearing bell-bottom jeans and visiting the beach. He has been promoting the album over the past two months, hosting and performing on Saturday Night Live and tweeting for the first time in five months about Fine Line. Just this past week, Styles filled in for James Corden on the Late Late Show.

]]>Alicia Keys is set to kick off the guest-hosting on December 9 and Harry Styles, Melissa McCarthy, Chance the Rapper, Ken Jeong, and Jeff Goldblum will have their turn as host until Coden returns on December 18.
“We are of course going to miss James during these two weeks of shows. But it’s a great consolation that we have some of the biggest stars in the world to step into his shoes. We are really looking forward to these exciting, entertaining and ambitious weeks of shows,” said Executive Producers Ben Winston and Rob Crabbe.
Styles is no stranger to hosting for Corden, he previously hosted in December 2017 and McCarthy and Jeong also have experience hosting for Ellen Degeneres.
As of yet, there have been no specific airdates for the guest hosts.
