]]>The Stand is about an apocalyptic version of a world that’s been decimated by plague and the people have to choose between good and evil. The fate of mankind falls upon 108-year-old Mother Abagail (Whoopi Goldberg) and the rest of the survivors. Their worst nightmares are in the form of Randall Flagg (Alexander Skarsgård), the Dark Man, who has unspeakable powers.
“The world is now a blank page, make your stand,” Whoopi Goldberg’s Mother Abagail says in the new trailer.
Also in the nine-episode limited-event series are James Marsden, Odessa Young, Jovan Adepo, Amber Heard, Owen Teague, Henry Zaga, Brad William Henke, Irene Bedard, Nat Wolff, Eion Bailey, Heather Graham, Katherine McNamara, Fiona Dourif, Natalie Martinez, Hamish Linklater, Daniel Sunjata, and Greg Kinnear.

]]>Multiple outlets report that Dauberman who was already on board the project as a screenwriter, will now direct from his own script.
The 1975 story centers on an author who returns to his hometown when he discovers that the townspeople are slowly being turned into vampires. Salem’s Lot was previously adapted to the small screen, but this will be the first time the story’s been adapted for the big screen.
Dauberman made his feature directorial debut last summer with Annabelle Comes Home.

]]>Stephen King’s 1974 novel Carrie is being reimagined (again), this time for television.
Collider was first to report that the TV adaptation from FX is in very early stages of development.
The most iconic adaptation of the horror novel about Carrie White, a high school misfit who discovers she has telekinetic powers, is Brian De Palma’s 1976 movie starring Sissy Spacek. Other adaptations include a Carrie TV movie in 2002 and the 2013 feature film starring Chloe Grace Moretz as the titular character.
The reimagining joins two other of King’s novels that are currently being adapted for the screen — The Half Dark at MGM and Epix’s of Jerusalem’s Lot.
