]]>The focus of the trailer fittingly named The Batman: The Bat and The Cat, is on the relationship between Bruce Wayne/ Batman and Zoë Kravitz’s Selina Kyle/Catwoman. The two seem to have a complicated relationship that will include at least one full-on fight but share a common goal of defending Gotham City from the newest threat that is The Riddler (Paul Dano).
Elsewhere in the trailer we see Wayne/Batman fighting bad guys, confronting his butler Alfred (Andy Serkis) and being scolded by politician Bella Real (Jayme Lawson) for not doing enough to help Gotham City.
The Batman: The Bat and The Cat is a reboot of The Batman franchise. Originally set to hit the theaters in June 2021, it will now be released in cinemas on March 4, 2022, before being coming to streaming service HBO Max in mid-April. Two sequels are set to follow, with Pattinson and Reeves returning.

]]>The sci-fi epic Dune from director Denis Villeneuve starring Timothee Chalamet, Rebecca Ferguson, Oscar Isaac, Josh Brolin, and Zendaya will no longer premiere on December 18, 2020—it’s now slated for an October 1, 2021 debut.
The Batman starring Robert Pattinson and directed by Matt Reeves was supposed to be released on October 1, 2021, but it will now be released on March 4, 2022.
Matrix 4 has been moved up to December 22, 2021 instead of April 1, 2022.
News of these delays comes after James Bond sequel No Time to Die, which was set for a November release date, was pushed back to 2021. This decision causes Regal, the second-biggest U.S. theater chain, to close down its venues after reopening in August. Cinemark, another major theater, announced that they have no plants to close U.S. venues.
Comic book adventure films including The Flash and Shazam 2 have also been delayed. The superhero adventures Black Adam and Minecraft have been taken off the release calendar.

]]>The new teaser only shows bits and pieces of the new movie, which is nowhere near being finished, but that’s just enough for loyal fans. This short clip didn’t reveal much of a plotline, but it gave us a chance to see Pattinson’s gritty take on the role, set to the beat of Nirvana’s “Something in the Way.”
The director Matt Reeves revealed that they only shot 25% of the movie so far, and revealed how this project stands out when compared to other movies about the beloved superhero.
“It’s not an origins tale, but you’re meeting him in the early days. A lot of the other stories showed he had to master his fear and himself, to become Batman, we met in the middle of this criminological experiment and watch him make mistakes,” said Reeves at the DC Fandome panel.
The Batman is scheduled to premiere on October 1st, 2020 and it will also star Zoë Kravitz, Paul Dano, Jeffrey Wright, Colin Farrell, and Andy Serkis.

]]>When it was announced that Pattison would be the next actor to step inside the Batmobile, fans were divided. While many were delighted by the news, others were skeptical about the Twilight star’s suitability for the role.
DC star Jason Momoa, however, has shared his excitement about Pattison taking on the role. Momoa plays Aquaman in the DC extended universe. Although the superheroes are part of the same comic franchise, it seems unlikely that the actor’s paths will cross. Nonetheless, Momoa has said that he is “really stoked” about the new Batman casting.
Momoa told Entertainment Tonight: “I’m really stoked. He’s a good man, he’s a great actor. I’m excited about the whole thing.”
When asked about the odds of his and Pattison’s characters crossing paths, he said: “I mean, it’d be awesome, but I don’t think it’s going that way. Let’s just let them do their thing and I’ll do my thing.”
The Batman will be released June 25, 2021.

But, it seems as though Hill’s loss… is Paul Dano’s gain.
The star of Escape from Dannemora will now become the second actor to embody Edward Nigma after Jimmy Carrey portrayed him in 1995’s Batman Forever.
It appears at this stage as though The Riddler will be the main villain giving Bruce Wayne grief when Robert Pattinson takes on the Caped Crusader.
Time will tell how much of a thorn Catwoman will be in Batman’s side, with the role of thief-turned-love-interest being given to Big Little Lies actress, Zoë Kravitz.
