TV show host, James Corden, and The Crown actor, Matt Smith might singlehandedly be reigniting the War of 1812.

For those who are unfamiliar with the battle, it was fought between Britain and the US, as well as their respective allies.

During an appearance on The Late Late Show which also starred High School Musical alum, Vanessa Hudgens, the pair pointed out that they don’t know really understand Halloween as a result of their geographical upbringing.

October 31st is considered a day of great importance state-side, with Vanessa saying she “lives for Halloween!”

James responded by saying, “See, we’re British, we don’t really get it.”

“It’s not a holiday! It’s not a holiday. It’s a day, it passes. Everyone gets dressed up,” Matt chipped in.

The host continued by saying, “It’s like the account manager at my son’s school, who is like an accountant at a big law firm and then he’s opening the door with a big ax in his face and blood dripping down, which like, this is completely normal. And it’s interesting for 30 seconds and then you end up just going, ‘Oh, did you see the game last night?’ And with a man with an axe in the face!”

We think he may have a point…
