Miley Cyrus Sets the Stage for New Visual Album “Something Beautiful”

Miley Cyrus really knows how to get us excited about her new music, and she’s doing it again with her upcoming album, Something Beautiful. Her next LP is coming our way this May, and she described it as a visual album that explores the theme of healing, inspired by Pink Floyd’s The Wall.

Cyrus announced the release of Something Beautiful by sharing the cover art, captured by renowned fashion photographer Glen Luchford. The album cover sees her wearing the archival 1997 Thierry Mugler couture and she said it’s “a striking nod to the album’s bold aesthetic and visual storytelling.”

Pink Floyd’s iconic album The Wall was a major source of inspiration for Cyrus when making Something Beautiful. She discussed her vision for this record in an interview with Harper’s BAZAAR and said it was like “making The Wall, but with a better wardrobe and more glamorous and filled with pop culture.”

Something Beautiful is coming out on May 30, and it will feature 13 new tracks. Cyrus is planning to celebrate its release with an accompanying visual film, set to come out in June. Described as “a unique visual experience fueled by fantasy”, the film will be filled with iconic fashion references, including archival looks by Thierry Mugler, Jean Paul Gaultier, and Alexander McQueen.

Philadelphia Eagles Win

The Philadelphia Eagles secured their second Super Bowl championship, beating the Kansas City Chiefs 40-22 and preventing them from achieving the first-ever Super Bowl three-peat. Their quarterback Jalen Hurts was the star of the night, and he won the Super Bowl MVP title after passing for 221 yards and two touchdowns.

Super Bowl halftime show is always worth the wait, and Kendrick Lamar’s performance lived up to the hype. He performed a mix of recent releases and his biggest hits, brought out several surprise guests, and had the entire stadium singing along while he took shots at Drake with the triumphant rendition of “Not Like Us”.

2025 Grammy Awards: Kendrick Lamar & Beyoncé Walk Away With Top Prizes

We can always count on the Grammy Awards to bring some epic moments our way, and Sunday night’s ceremony didn’t disappoint. Beyoncé has finally been honored with the album of the year prize for Cowboy Carter, while Kendrick Lamar collected five trophies for his smash hit “Not Like Us”.

Beyoncé came into this year’s Grammy Awards with 11 nods and managed to take three trophies home, including her very first album of the year prize. Cowboy Carter also helped her make history as the first Black female artist to walk away with the best country album award at the Grammys.

Kendrick Lamar added five more Grammys to his collection after winning the coveted song and record of the year awards for “Not Like Us”. This viral hit also helped him dominate rap categories, winning best rap song and rap performance, in addition to being honored with the best music video trophy.

It was also a night to remember for Sierra Ferrell, who picked up four awards in the Americana categories. She was closely followed by Beyoncé, Charli XCX, and St. Vincent, who managed to collect three trophies each.

The 2025 Grammy Awards were held at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles on February 2, with Trevor Noah serving as a host for the fifth consecutive year.

Lady Gaga Teases the Release of Her Seventh Album “Mayhem”

Lady Gaga’s seventh studio album has been a long time coming, and its release date is just around the corner. The Grammy-winning singer will share Mayhem with the world this March, and it will mark her long-awaited return to the kind of pop music her earliest fans loved so much.

After teasing the release of LG7 with a series of billboards and a countdown clock on her website, Lady Gaga officially announced its release this Monday. She revealed her new album will be titled Mayhem, adding it “started as me facing my fear of returning to the pop music my earliest fans loved.”

Its album cover shows the singer standing behind the shattered mirror, and this image stuck with her because it reminded her that you can “ create something beautiful and whole in its own new way” even if you can’t put the pieces back together perfectly.

Mayhem will be released on March 7 via Streamline and Interscope Records, and it will feature a total of 14 tracks. We already got to hear two of them – the lead single “Disease” and the Bruno Mars collaboration “Die with a Smile”, which became a global hit and spent four weeks atop the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

Kendrick Lamar Soars to the Top of the Charts With “GNX”

Kendrick Lamar’s new album GNX took everyone by surprise, but his fans welcomed it with open arms and helped it soar to the top. This surprise album easily debuted atop the Billboard 200 and managed to occupy the top five on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, with “Squabble Up” leading the way at No. 1.

Lamar dropped GNX on November 22 with no prior notice, and a surprise factor helped him build a lot of hype for this record and top the Billboard 200 chart with 319,000 equivalent album units. This marks Lamar’s fifth album to hit No. 1 after Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers (2022), DAMN. (2017), Untitled Unmastered (2016), and To Pimp a Butterfly (2015).

Lamar also found huge success on the Billboard Hot 100, charting all 12 songs from GNX and occupying the top five with “Squabble Up”, “TV Off” ft. Lefty Gunplay, “Luther” ft. SZA, “Wacced Out Murals”, and “Hey Now” ft. Dody6. He’s the fourth artist to achieve this feat, joining the exclusive company of Taylor Swift, Drake, and The Beatles.

“Squabble Up” is Lamar’s third song to top the Billboard Hot 100 chart this year, after “Like That” ft. Future and Metro Boomin and “Not Like Us”. He’s the only artist with three No. 1 hits in 2024, and the third alongside Ariana Grande and BTS to achieve three No. 1 debuts in a single year.

2025 Grammy Awards: Beyoncé is in the Running for 11 Awards

With 32 Grammys under her belt, Beyoncé is the most rewarded artist in the history of this ceremony, and she’ll soon get a chance to extend her record. She’ll enter the next edition of the Grammy Awards as the main contender after scoring 11 nominations and making history as the most-nominated artist ever with a total of 99 nods.

Despite being the most decorated artist in the Grammys’ history, Beyoncé never lifted the trophy for album of the year. She previously received nominations in this category for I Am… Sasha Fierce, Beyoncé, Lemonade, and Renaissance, and she’ll get another chance to win it with Cowboy Carter.

Taylor Swift is also in the running for album of the year with The Tortured Poets Department, along with André 3000 with New Blue Sun, Sabrina Carpenter with Short n’ Sweet, Charli XCX with Brat, Jacob Collier with Djesse Vol. 4, Billie Eilish with Hit Me Hard and Soft, and Chappell Roan with The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess.

Beyoncé’s hit single “Texas Hold ‘Em” is nominated for song and record of the year, but she’ll have to beat tough competition to take these awards home. Billie Eilish’s “Birds of a Feather”, Taylor Swift’s “Fortnight” ft. Post Malone, Chappell Roan’s “Good Luck Babe”, and Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us” have also been nominated in both categories.

The 2025 Grammy Awards will take place on February 2, 2025, at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.

2024 MTV VMAs: Taylor Swift Dominates With Seven Wins

Taylor Swift is no stranger to winning big at the MTV Video Music Awards, and her domination continued at this year’s ceremony. She added seven more trophies to her impressive collection, including another video of the year award for “Fortnight” ft. Post Malone.

“Fortnight” defeated Ariana Grande’s “We Can’t Be Friends (Wait for Your Love)”, Billie Eilish’s “Lunch”, Doja Cat’s “Paint the Town Red”, Eminem’s “Houdini”, and SZA’s “Snooze” to win video of the year, and this wasn’t a first for Swift.

She holds the record for most wins in this category with five, having previously won with “Bad Blood” (2015), “You Need to Calm Down” (2019), “All Too Well” (2022), and “Anti-Hero” (2023).

In addition to being named the video of the year, “Fortnight” led the way in four more categories – best collaboration, song of the summer, best editing, and best direction. Swift won two more Moon Person trophies on her own, including artist of the year and best pop.

Despite dominating this year’s MTV VMAs, the award for song of the year slipped through Swift’s fingers and went to Sabrina Carpenter. She won big with her smash hit “Espresso”, which also defeated Beyoncé’s “Texas Hold ‘Em”, Jack Harlow’s “Lovin on Me”, Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us”, and Teddy Swims’ “Lose Control”.

Kendrick Lamar Announced as 2025 Super Bowl Halftime Show Headliner

2024 has been an epic year for Kendrick Lamar, and just when we thought it couldn’t possibly get any better – it did! The 17-time Grammy-winning rapper will be in charge of headlining the Super Bowl LIX halftime show when the Big Game returns to Caesars Superdome in New Orleans in February.

This won’t be the first time Lamar hit the Super Bowl stage. He was a part of the hip-hop celebration in 2022 with Dr. Dre, Mary J. Blige, Snoop Dogg, and Eminem, and he’s planning to remind the world why “rap music is still the most impactful genre to date” at the Super Bowl LIX.

Seth Dudowsky, head of music at the NFL, announced Lamar as the next headliner and said they’re excited to join forces with Roc Nation and Apple Music to deliver another unforgettable halftime show.

“Few artists have impacted music and culture as profoundly as Kendrick Lamar. Time and time again, Kendrick has proven his unique ability to craft moments that resonate, redefine, and ultimately shake the very foundation of hip-hop,” Dudowsky said in a statement.

Kendrick Lamar kicked off 2024 with a chart-topping Future and Metro Boomin collaboration “Like That”. This song sparked his feud with Drake, which produced several hit songs, including Lamar’s latest No. 1 single “Not Like Us”.

Sabrina Carpenter Wins Tight Race for No. 1 on the Billboard 200 Chart

This week’s race for the top spot on the Billboard 200 chart was as heated as it gets, but Sabrina Carpenter managed to come on top. Short n’ Sweet became her first album No. 1 album after beating Travis Scott’s Days Before Rodeo by just 1,000 album units to claim the top spot.

It’s pretty rare to see the Billboard 200 results delayed, but that’s exactly what happened this week, with Carpenter and Scott going neck to neck until the last minute. Carpenter’s Short n’ Sweet eventually debuted at No. 1 with 362,000 equivalent album units, just 1,000 units ahead of Scott’s Days Before Rodeo with a little over 361,000 equivalent album units.

Carpenter managed to score the third-largest week for an album in 2024, behind Taylor Swift’s The Tortured Poets Department and Beyoncé’s Cowboy Carter. Short n’ Sweet is her first album to hit No. 1 in the U.S., in addition to topping the charts in the UK, Australia, and beyond.

Carpenter also hit No. 2, 3, and 4 on the Billboard Hot 100 this week with “Taste”, “Espresso”, and “Please Please Please”, joining The Beatles as the only artist to chart her first three top five hits simultaneously. She previously made history as the first female artist to simultaneously score the No. 1 album and single in the UK, where “Taste” hit the top spot this week.

Halsey Teases New Concept Album “The Great Impersonator”

Halsey has been dropping hints about her new album for quite some time, and it turns out what’s to come is more amazing than we’ve anticipated. She officially announced the release of The Great Impersonator, a confessional concept album that sees her exploring her artistry through different eras.

Halsey teased the release of The Great Impersonator with an emotional clip where she revealed that she thought this album would be the last one she ever made. The singer recently told fans she’s “lucky to be alive” after being diagnosed with lupus and T-cell disorder, and her illness made her start thinking about all the ways her life could have been different.

“Am I still Halsey every time, in every timeline? Do I still get sick? Do I become a mom? Am I happy? Lonely? Have I done enough? Have I told the truth? I spent half my life being someone else. I never stopped to ask myself: If it all ended right now, is this the person you’d be proud to leave behind? Is it even you?” she said in a voiceover.

She described The Great Impersonator as a confessional concept album that will explore the idea of what her music would sound like in different eras. She cosplays as everyone from David Bowie to Britney Spears in the promo video for her new album, which she promoted with singles “Lucky” and “Lonely is the Muse”.
