]]>After weeks of rumors and speculations about Nolan’s next project, Universal cleared the air by sharing an update about this highly-anticipated film on social media.
“Christopher Nolan’s next film The Odyssey is a mythic action epic shot across the world using brand new IMAX film technology. The film brings Homer’s foundational saga to IMAX film screens for the first time and opens in theaters everywhere on July 17, 2026,” the studio announced in an official statement.

Like all of Nolan’s previous movies, The Odyssey will be one star-studded affair. Matt Damon, Tom Holland, Anne Hathaway, Zendaya, Robert Pattinson, Lupita Nyong’o, and Charlize Theron previously joined this project in key roles.

Expectations are running high for its follow-up, but not much is known about it yet, apart from the fact it will be released by Universal Pictures on July 17, 2026.
Matt Damon, who recently starred in Nolan’s Oppenheimer, was the first star attached to this project when it was initially announced. ]]>Christopher Nolan’s latest stars Cillian Murphy as J. Robert Oppenheimer, the theoretical physicist who went down in history as “the father of the atomic bomb”. The film draws inspiration from the book American Prometheus, written by Kai Bird and Martin J. Sherwin, and looks back at Oppenheimer’s time as the director of the Manhattan Project.
The trailer doesn’t reveal too much about the film, offering a series of show-stopping shots instead and Murphy’s reflective voiceover, saying, “Theory will take you only so far. I don’t know if we can be trusted with such a weapon, but we have no choice.”
Oppenheimer also stars Emily Blunt, Robert Downey Jr., Matt Damon, Rami Malek, Florence Pugh, Benny Safdie, Michael Angarano, Josh Hartnett, and Kenneth Branagh in supporting roles. The film has been hailed for its use of practical effects to recreate a nuclear explosion, instead of relying on CGI. Its premiere date is set for July 21, 2023 and it will be released by Universal Pictures.

Robert Oppenheimer, often described as “the father of the atomic bomb.” In addition to reuniting with Murphy, who previously starred in The Dark Knight trilogy, Inception, and Dunkirk, he’ll join forces with several frequent collaborators he worked with in the past.
Cinematographer Hoyte Van Hoytema, editor Jennifer Lame, and composer Ludwig Göransson are all set to help Nolan bring his next project to life. Oppenheimer also got an official release date, and it’s set to premiere on July 21st, 2023, and get a 100-day theatrical window.
Its exclusive theatrical run is a part of Nolan’s agreement with his new studio, Universal Pictures. They joined forces after the director decided to part ways with Warner Bros. and Universal’s chairman Donna Langley said they’re excited to be working with Nolan and Emma Thomas.
“We are thrilled to be working alongside them on this exceptional and extraordinary project and are grateful for their shared passion and commitment to the theatrical experience,” said Langley in a statement.

]]>The action-thriller penned and helmed by Nolan has willed itself past the $300 million mark for a global total of $307 million with the domestic and global box office numbers combined.
Tenet is the first (and only) major release for a long while due to the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic. The film has failed to haul the numbers a Nolan feature would normally gross, which most likely means that Warner Bros. film is set to lose millions during its theatrical run. According to Variety, however, the decision to release Tenet in theaters is part to the studio’s strategy, believing that it will in fact make more money by launching in theaters than it would have if it had debuted on HBO Max.
Tenet stars John David Washington, Robert Pattinson, Elizabeth Debicki, Dimple Kapadia, Michael Caine, and Kenneth Branagh.

]]>As one character says in the trailer, “Don’t try to understand it. Feel it.” And we’re gonna do exactly that in the trailer for the follow up to 2017’s Dunkirk.
The cast includes John David Washington, Robert Pattinson, Elizabeth Debicki, Michael Caine, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Kenneth Branagh, Dimple Kapadia, and Clémence Poésy.
Many of the cast has worked with Nolan before; Caine has appeared in eight films by Nolan and Branagh was in Dunkirk.
Tenet’s budget is Nolan’s biggest budget to date, at $220 million.
“We’re jumping off from the point of view of an espionage film, but we’re going to a number of different places. We’re crossing a few different genres in a hopefully exciting and fresh way. We shot in seven countries, all over the place, with a massive cast and huge set pieces. There’s no question, it’s the most ambitious film we’ve made,” Nolan told Entertainment Weekly.
Tenet will be released on July 17th, 2020, but for now, check out the mind-bending trailer below.
