]]>Elf was a surprise hit, and it’s one Christmas film most of us will watch year after year. It was no wonder the studio wanted to make a sequel and cash in on that popularity. Will Ferrell said no, even when offered almost $30 million. He didn’t want to do a bad sequel for the money, but now we’ll never know just how bad that sequel would’ve been.
After Pulp Fiction, John Travolta was the big thing in movies again. So when he was cast in the film The Double, a Roman Polanski movie. Except his child needed surgery and him up and left France where the movie was being filmed so he could get the best care. And then never spoke to the director again. The lawsuit was finally settled out of court and the film was never made.
At the height of his career, Robin Williams stole our hearts in films like Mrs. Doubtfire. Sequels weren’t quite the norm in the nineties that they are now but we all would’ve flocked to a Mrs. Doubtfire 2. However, Williams had problems with the script and didn’t agree to make the sequel until 2014, the year he sadly passed away.

]]>Just before Star Wars: The Last Jedi was released, Lucasfilm announced Johnson, the film’s director, would write and direct the next trilogy, taking place beyond Episode IX and introducing brand new characters and stories into the franchise. As Johnson told IGN, “part of the excitement of it is really trying to hone in on ‘what is Star Wars?’ What was Star Wars for me the very first time I saw it when I was a little kid?”
What will set these new films apart is that Johnson will try to recreate the formula for a successful Star Wars franchise, but without including anyone of Skywalker lineage or other notable characters from the saga. As Johnson put it, “once you get past the things that are the iconography of Star Wars – once you say, okay, if it doesn’t have the Falcon; if it doesn’t have someone with Skywalker as their last name; if we don’t go to Tatooine, what is it?”

]]>The irreplaceable Hugh Jackman has a serious case of the paranoias — he fears his 17-year stint as The X-Men’s Wolverine is ending with a whimper.
20th Century Fox better beware before he shows his claws. Although, Jackman admits he’s been playing the character for a long time, it’s hard not to register the disappointment in his words.
Speaking to The Huffington Post, Jackman does his best to appear chipper, “And I’m sure that they’ve already started casting, you know? Someone may sign up for an 11-picture deal, as we speak.”
He was tight-lipped on the Deadpool gossip: “Hmmm, I can’t … no. Nope,” he said. “But, I am really good mates with [Reynolds] so …”
The brief encounter of Wolverine and Deadpool in the 2009 X-Men Origins may not be so brief next time, as Jackman hinted to IGN: “We sort of took a pretty strong choice on Deadpool, where we kind of stitched him up,” said Jackman.
“And I love the character of Deadpool and I think that the sort of badass, fast-talking, funny, annoying Deadpool vs Wolverine would still be cool. We’ve sort of done it, but I think we could have done that much better.”
Let’s hope this is one rumour we can shred.

]]>Virtually unrecognizable, Zellweger looks stunning as the principal lead. The movie also stars Jesse Buckley, Finn Wittrock, and Micheal Gambon. Filming started in October last year.
While she may not be the most obvious choice to play the Wizard Of Oz star, it’s certainly not her first musical role. After her success as Bridget Jones, a year later she went on to play Roxie in Chicago with Catherine Zeta-Jones. For her role, she won a Golden Globe and was nominated for an Oscar. No one seems better suited for the role of Judy, who was only a year older than Zellweger when the film is set.
As well as awards for Chicago, she’s won several awards for her acting from Baftas to Golden Globes and an Academy Awards for her role in 2003’s Cold Mountain.
