Chart Data has Bieber at 91 monthly listeners, while his closest follower is Ed Sheeran with 80.5 million listeners. The duo is followed by The Weeknd (78.1 million), Ariana Grande (73.4 million), and Dua Lipa (66.7 million). Also in the top 10 are Adele, Coldplay, Taylor Swift, Elton John, and Doja Cat.

Justin Bieber has had a busy year in 2021, releasing his sixth studio album Justice back in March. The record, which featured guest appearances from Khalid, Chance the Rapper, and Benny Blanco, among others, received positive reviews while topping charts in 10 countries, including the US Billboard 200. It also landed Bieber eight nominations at the upcoming Grammy Awards.

Less than a month after Justice came out, Bieber also shared an unannounced EP Freedom. The release contained six gospel-inspired songs and it was met with a favorable reception from the critics.

Bieber is currently set to embark on a world tour to promote Justice. The tour is scheduled to kick off with a show in San Diego on February 18, 2022, and it runs through March 2023.

It’s been almost five years since Ed Sheeran released his smash hit “Shape of You” and he’s still breaking records with this song. The No. 1 single from his third studio album Divide just made history as the first song to ever reach three billion streams on Spotify.

Sheeran celebrated this historic milestone by posting a video on social media, where he shared a backstory behind its release history and revealed it was never meant to be a single in the first place.

“Ben Cook from my label, was basically saying ‘You have to put this on the album. it had to be a single.’ And I said to him, ‘I want ‘Castle on the Hill’ to be the first single… We agreed to disagree and put both songs out at once. And I have to say, Ben, I was wrong and you were very much right. And here we are!” said Sheeran in the video.

“Shape of You” was indeed released as one of the double lead singles from his 2017 album Divide, along with “Castle on the Hill”. It hit No. 1 in 34 countries and won numerous accolades, including the British single of the year at the Brit Awards and the best pop solo performance at the Grammy Awards.

Generation Z may not be familiar with records — or even CDs in some cases — but they are familiar with the music of the 20th century.

And thanks to modern technology, they can now enjoy those songs through streaming.

Universal Music Group has scoured streaming platforms such as Spotify, Apple Music, Deezer, and YouTube to determine the most-streamed song of the 20th century.

Despite record companies claiming that it was too long and would never sell due to its bizarre lyrics and operatic arrangement, Queen can feel vindicated that its classic, “Bohemian Rhapsody,” has been named the most-streamed song from the 20th century.

The 6-minute track written by Freddie Mercury in 1975 may have received a boost with audiences thanks to the 2018 film of the same name.

The song surpassed 1.6 billion streams globally, across all major streaming services, overtaking “Smells Like Teen Spirit” by Nirvana.

“So the river of rock music has metamorphosed into streams! Very happy that our music is still flowing to the max!” exclaimed Queen guitarist Brian May.

Any way the wind blows…
