It’s Billboard Hot 100 reign continues this year, and Carey never stops being surprised by its success.
“We’re celebrating. This type of news, it’s never like, ‘Oh my gosh, I’m so bored of this news.’ To have another Billboard Hot 100 with a song that means so much to me, I can’t even, I can’t — I literally don’t know what to say,” said the singer in a voice note shared on social media.
Carey leads another Billboard Hot 100 chart filled with holidays classics, and “All I Want For Christmas” is only one of six songs to make the top 10. It’s closely followed by Brenda Lee’s “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree” at no. 2 and Bobby Helms’ “Jingle Bell Rock” at No. 4.

In addition to the singer herself, we get to see several more stars set to make an appearance in this Christmas special, including Ariana Grande, Jennifer Hudson, Snoop Dogg, Tiffany Haddish, and Billy Eichner.
According to the official synopsis by Apple TV+, Mariah Carey’s Magical Christmas Special will feature a combination of “musical performances, dynamic dancing, and groundbreaking animation” and it will show Carey’s help Santa save Christmas in the midst of “holiday cheer crisis.”
Mariah Carey’s Magical Christmas Special will premiere on December 4th, and it will be accompanied by a holiday-themed soundtrack. One of the songs to be featured on this album is the new version of “Oh Santa!”, featuring Ariana Grande and Jennifer Hudson, which will be accompanied by a festive music video.

The special, which also marks the 25th anniversary since “All I Want for Christmas is You” was first released, will combine music, dancing, and animation “driven by a universally heartwarming story that brings the world together.”
Mariah Carey’s association with Christmas isn’t just tied with “All I Want for Christmas is You,” as the popular singer also released two holiday-themed full-length studio albums in the past. The first one was Merry Christmas from 1994, while the second, titled Merry Christmas II You, was released in 2010. Carey also hosted several specials and had numerous TV appearances during Christmas time.

]]>Billboard announced Monday via its official Twitter account that Carey’s “All I Want For Christmas Is You” has finally claimed the No. 1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
Yes, that’s right — two and a half decades after the release of her holiday album Merry Christmas in 1994, Carey claims her 19th overall No.1 achievement, giving her more No. 1 singles on the Hot 100 than any other solo artist per Entertainment Weekly.
Following Billboard’s announcement the award-winning singer and Queen of Christmas took to share the excitement with her fans writing, “We did it .”
