Many of our favorite artists are dropping their highly-anticipated new albums this spring, and Billie Eilish is the next one in line. She finally announced the release of her third studio album Hit Me Hard and Soft, about a month before its release.

Eilish’s album announcement was a long time coming after she intrigued her fans with her marketing strategy. After sharing billboards featuring her new lyrics around the world, she continued the promo on Instagram, where all of her followers have been added to her “Close Friends” list.

All eyes were on her when she finally shared the cover of Hit Me Hard and Soft, which shows her falling underwater, through an open white door. Her third studio album will be released on May 17 via Darkroom Interscope.

Eilish isn’t planning to drop any singles ahead of the album’s release because she sees it as a cohesive collection of songs that should be listened to entirety from beginning to end.

“The album does exactly as the title suggests: hits you hard and soft both lyrically and sonically while bending genres and defying trends… Hit Me Hard and Soft journeys through a vast and expansive audio landscape, immersing listeners into a full spectrum of emotions,” reads the album’s official announcement.

This year’s Grammy Awards were a night to remember, especially for Taylor Swift! She walked away with her fourth album of the year trophy with Midnights, becoming the first solo artist to do so, and used this moment to tease her next LP The Tortured Poets Department.

Swift’s Midnights came into the ceremony as the front-runner for album of the year trophy, and it lived up to the hype. While collecting her Grammy, Swift expressed gratitude to her passionate fanbase and told them she has a new album on the way on April 19, titled The Tortured Poets Department.

Miley Cyrus also had a reason to celebrate after defeating tough competition to win record of the year award with “Flowers”. This smash hit was also nominated for song of the year, but lost out to Billie Eilish’s “What Was I Made For?”, while Victoria Monét was crowned the best new artist.

It was also a big night for Phoebe Bridgers, who picked up a total of four trophies at this year’s Grammys, including three with her supergroup Boygenius. SZA, Victoria Monét, and Killer Mike were also honored with three awards apiece.

The 2024 Grammy Awards were held on February 4 at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, with Trevor Noah returning to host the show for the fourth time.

After steadily climbing up the UK Singles Chart since its release, Billie Eilish’s “What Was I Made For?” finally reached the top! It’s her second single to hit No. 1 in this country and it leads the record-breaking week for solo female performers in the UK.

Eilish previously hit No. 1 with the titular theme song from the last James Bond film No Time To Die, and she finally managed to replicate this success. To make the whole even better, “What Was I Made For?” also hails from another hit soundtrack for Greta Gerwig’s Barbie movie.

Eilish is leading what the Official Chart’s website described as “the summer of girl power”—a historic achievement that sees six songs by female solo artists ruling the chart. “What Was I Made For?” is followed by Dua Lipa’s “Dance the Night”, Olivia Rodrigo’s “Vampire”, Taylor Swift’s “Cruel Summer”, Peggy Gou’s “(It Goes Like) Nanana”, and Rodrigo’s “Bad Idea Right”.

Barbie: The Album has been making waves on the UK Singles Chart since its release, and this isn’t its first historic achievement. This album previously became the first soundtrack in history with three songs within the top five in the UK at the same time, thanks to the viral success of “What Was I Made For?”, “Dance the Night”, and “Barbie World” by Nicki Minaj and Ice Spice ft. Aqua.

Barbie wouldn’t be the same without its amazing, star-studded soundtrack, and this record is finally getting credit where credit is due. Three songs from Barbie: The Album made it to the top five in the UK, making history along the way.

Barbie: The Album hit the shelves on July 21, to coincide with the release of Greta Gerwig’s critically acclaimed film, which broke several box office records during its opening weekend. Fans of the film couldn’t get enough of this album and helped it set a historic record on the Official Singles Chart in the UK.

Three songs from this soundtrack made it to the top five, including “What Was I Made For” by Billie Eilish, “Dance the Night” by Dua Lipa, and “Barbie World” by Nicki Minaj and Ice Spice. Barbie: The Album thus broke the record for most songs from a single soundtrack to simultaneously chart in the top five.

To make the whole thing even better, this album also set the record for most songs from a single soundtrack in the top 40 with a total of six entries. “Speed Drive” by Charli XCX, “I’m Just Ken” by Ryan Gosling, and “Pink” by Lizzo are among the songs that made the cut.

Barbie: The Album was produced by Mark Ronson, and it featured some of pop music’s biggest names, including Sam Smith, PinkPantheress, Karol G, Ava Max, and FIFTY FIFTY.

Billie Eilish recently revealed she’s the secret artist set to be featured on the Barbie soundtrack, and her mystery song was worth waiting for. The music video for “What Was I Made For?” is here, and it sees the Grammy-winning singer paying homage to Barbie and her own past eras, all at once.

The video opens with Eilish sitting down at a lone desk while wearing a retro yellow dress and a blonde ponytail that looks straight out of the Barbie logo. As the video progresses, we get to see her hang tiny replicas of her past outfits on a rack, but she eventually gives it all up after rain and wind keep disrupting her plans.

Eilish admitted she was in the middle of a writing block when Greta Gerwig approached her and her brother/frequent collaborator Finneas O’Connell to record a song for this movie. She was inspired to write again after seeing a snippet of Barbie and crafted lyrics for “What Was I Made For?” with the titular character in mind, only to realize she was also channeling her own personal emotions.

“What Was I Made For?” will be featured on Barbie: The Album, set to come out on July 21, along with new music from Dua Lipa, Ava Max, Charli XCX, Fifty Fifty, Ice Spice, Karol G, Lizzo, Nicki Minaj, and many more.

The Lollapalooza lineup is always fire, but the organizers really outdid themselves this time around! The list of performers at the upcoming edition of the iconic Chicago festival is here, and it includes such A-list artists as Billie Eilish, Lana Del Rey, and Kendrick Lamar.

The rest of headlining spots have been filled by equally impressive artists, such as The 1975, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Odesza, Tomorrow X Together, and Karol G. In addition to making sure to give us a little bit of everything, Lollapalooza organizers managed to make history with several of their headliner picks.

To the delight of K-pop fans everywhere, Tomorrow X Together (TXT) is the first K-pop group to headline Lollapalooza. Karol G’s inclusion is also quite historic, and she’s the first female Latin artist to land a headlining spot at the iconic festival.

The full lineup features around 170 artists, including the likes of Carly Rae Jepsen, Rina Sawayama, Pusha T, Lil Yachty, 30 Seconds To Mars, Sabrina Carpenter, Diplo, and Maggie Rogers, Boogie Wit Da Hoodie, and Fred Again among others.

Lollapalooza first took place in 1991, and it later found its permanent home in Grant Park in Chicago, welcoming an estimated 400,000 people every year. This year’s edition will take place between August 3-6 across nine stages.

We can always count on Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival to give us some amazing performances and this year’s festival certainly delivered. If you haven’t had a chance to attend it in person, take a look at some of the most epic performances that stole the show.

Harry Styles

Styles’ new album Harry’s House is about a month away, and his headlining Coachella performance was the best promo he could possibly ask for. In addition to teasing several new songs, including “Boyfriends” and “Late Night Talking”, he also welcomed Shania Twain and Lizzo on stage.

Doja Cat

Shortly after contemplating retiring from music, Doja Cat used her Coachella performance to prove to the world that she’s here to stay. Her set was as epic as it gets, featuring electrifying costumes and choreography, and one jaw-dropping performance of her biggest hits after another.

Billie Eilish

Eilish is no stranger to stealing the show at Coachella and she did it once again this year. She was truly the queen of Coachella and her set featured performances of her biggest hits and guest appearances from several guests including Hayley Williams who joined her for a special rendition of “Misery Business”.

The Grammy Awards wouldn’t be the same without amazing performances by our favorite artists and we finally know who’s going to grace the stage at the upcoming ceremony. The first round of performers is out and it includes the likes of Billie Eilish, Olivia Rodrigo, and BTS.

Eilish and Rodrigo are obvious choices since they’re both nominated for seven awards, including album, record, and song of the year. Eilish is in the running with her second studio album Happier Than Ever, while Rodrigo owes her nominations to her debut album Sour and chart-topping single “Drivers License”. BTS has been nominated for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance with their smash hit “Butter”.

Brothers Osborne, Brandi Carlile, and Lil Nas X with Jack Harlow are also set to perform at the Grammys with the rest of the performers yet to be announced. Lil Nas X and Carlile have been nominated for five awards, while Brothers Osborne and Harlow received two nods each.

The 2022 Grammy Awards are taking place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on April 3, with Trevor Noah serving as a host. The list of major nominees includes Jon Batiste with eleven nominations, and Doja Cat, H.E.R., and Justin Bieber with eight each.

The best original song category at the upcoming Oscars will feature some A-list names, and we finally know who’s official in the running. The Academy unveiled a shortlist of 15 songs in contentions for this award, and Beyoncé, Billie Eilish, and Ariana Grande are some of the artists who made the cut.

Beyoncé is in the running with “Be Alive” from King Richard, the true story of Richard Williams who helped his daughters Venus and Serena shoot for the stars and become tennis legends. Eilish made the cut with “No Time To Die”, the theme song from the latest James Bond movie.

Ariana Grande is in the running alongside Kid Cudi, with “Just Look Up” from Don’t Look Up. Their chances, however, are looking slim after they failed to score a Golden Globe nomination in the same category.

Lin-Manuel Miranda’s “Dos Oruguitas” from Encanto, Jennifer Hudson’s “Here I Am (Singing My Way Home)” from Respect, and Jay-Z’s “Guns Go Bang” from The Harder They Fall are also in the running for this prestigious award.

Only five songs will make the cut and they’re traditionally performed during the Oscars telecast. Nominations will be announced on February 8th, 2022, while the Academy Awards ceremony will take place on March 27th, 2022.

Full Shortlist for Best Original Song:

“So May We Start?” from Annette

“Down To Joy” from Belfast

“Right Where I Belong” from Brian Wilson: Long Promised Road

“Automatic Woman” from Bruised

“Dream Girl” from Cinderella

“Beyond The Shore” from CODA

“The Anonymous Ones” from Dear Evan Hansen

Billie Eilish is currently plotting the release of her sophomore album Happier Than Ever, and she’s rocking our world with each new single she releases. That’s certainly the case with her latest song “Lost Cause”, which comes with a playful slumber party-themed visual.

Eilish’s new self-directed music video shows her creating her own version of TikTok’s Hype House with a group of friends. They’re shown wearing matching outfits and having a slumber party to remember, which includes everything from choreographed dances to shooting water guns and playing twister.

“Lost Cause” isn’t the first song to give us a taste of Eilish’s upcoming second studio album. It was preceded by singles “My Future”, “Therefore I Am”, and “Your Power”, all of which entered the top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart following their release.

All four songs will be featured on Eilish’s upcoming album Happier Than Ever, set to feature a total of 16 tracks. It serves as the follow-up to the singer’s debut album When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go? and it’s set to be released on July 30th.
