]]>It was a night to remember for Sean Baker, who won Oscars for directing, writing, and editing Anora, in addition to collecting the best picture prize for his work as one of the film’s producer. The acclaimed indie comedy defeated the likes of Emilia Pérez, The Brutalist, Wicked, and Conclave to win this coveted award.
It was also a night to remember for Mikey Madison, who won an Oscar for her leading role in Anora. Adrien Brody (The Brutalist), Kieran Culkin (A Real Pain), and Zoe Saldaña (Emilia Pérez) joined her as winners in the acting categories.
In addition to Anora with five Oscars, the list of films with multiple awards also included The Brutalist with three, plus Dune: Part Two, Emilia Pérez, and Wicked with two each. The Academy Honorary Awards were presented to the late composer Quincy Jones and casting director Juliet Taylor ahead of the ceremony.
The 2025 Academy Awards returned to the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles on March 2, with Conan O’Brien serving as a host for the first time.

]]>After teasing the release of LG7 with a series of billboards and a countdown clock on her website, Lady Gaga officially announced its release this Monday. She revealed her new album will be titled Mayhem, adding it “started as me facing my fear of returning to the pop music my earliest fans loved.”
Its album cover shows the singer standing behind the shattered mirror, and this image stuck with her because it reminded her that you can “ create something beautiful and whole in its own new way” even if you can’t put the pieces back together perfectly.
Mayhem will be released on March 7 via Streamline and Interscope Records, and it will feature a total of 14 tracks. We already got to hear two of them – the lead single “Disease” and the Bruno Mars collaboration “Die with a Smile”, which became a global hit and spent four weeks atop the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

]]>After weeks of rumors and speculations about Nolan’s next project, Universal cleared the air by sharing an update about this highly-anticipated film on social media.
“Christopher Nolan’s next film The Odyssey is a mythic action epic shot across the world using brand new IMAX film technology. The film brings Homer’s foundational saga to IMAX film screens for the first time and opens in theaters everywhere on July 17, 2026,” the studio announced in an official statement.
Based on Homer’s timeless Greek epic, The Odyssey sees the Greek hero Odysseus trying to find his way back home to Ithaca after the Trojan War. It takes him a decade to return to his wife Penelope and son Telemachus, and he faces many unexpected obstacles on his perilous journey.
Like all of Nolan’s previous movies, The Odyssey will be one star-studded affair. Matt Damon, Tom Holland, Anne Hathaway, Zendaya, Robert Pattinson, Lupita Nyong’o, and Charlize Theron previously joined this project in key roles.

]]>How to Train Your Dragon is loosely based on Cressida Cowell’s series of novels, which inspired a successful animated film franchise. It will take us to the rugged isle of Berk, where Vikings and dragons have been bitter enemies for generations.
“The inventive yet overlooked son of Chief Stoick the Vast, Hiccup defies centuries of tradition when he befriends Toothless, a feared Night Fury dragon. Their unlikely bond reveals the true nature of dragons, challenging the very foundations of Viking society,” reads the film’s official logline.
Dean DeBlois, who directed the animated How to Train Your Dragon trilogy, returned to direct its live-action version. Mason Thames leads its cast as Hiccup, and he’ll be joined by Nico Parker, Nick Frost, Julian Dennison, Gabriel Howell, Bronwyn James, Harry Trevaldwyn, Ruth Codd, and Gerard Butler in supporting roles.

Columbia Pictures chief Harry Cohn was opposed to it, and rumor has it that mobsters close to him tried to stop Davis from seeing Novak by any means necessary.
Miramax is developing this project, and they’re planning to get to work as soon as Sweeney and Domingo finish filming the third season of HBO’s Euphoria. Domingo is a recent Oscar nominee, who’ll make his feature directorial debut with this project, after directing several episodes of Fear the Walking Dead.
Euphoria star Sweeney is no stranger to carrying a major studio film on her shoulders, and we’ve recently seen her play lead roles in Anyone but You, Reality, and Immaculate. As for Jonsson, he rose to prominence while starring in HBO’s Industry, and went on to play major roles in Rye Lane and Alien: Romulus.

Despite abandoning its initial concept, The Associate will still be set in the world of London’s most elite fixers. It will reportedly center on “two generations of gangsters, the businesses they run, the complex relationships they weave, and the man they call upon to fix their problems.”
Helen Mirren and Pierce Brosnan will lead the cast as the matriarch and patriarch of a crime family, whose reputation is put at risk. They both made a transition to television in recent years – Mirren with the Yellowstone spin-off 1923, Brosnan with AMC’s western drama The Son. As for Tom Hardy, he’ll play the fixer of the crime family at the center of this series, and this project will mark his first major TV role since Peaky Blinders.

The new city brings a new love interest along, and Star is looking forward to exploring Emily’s relationship with Marcello (Eugenio Franceschini) in Season 5.
“Marcello is a whole other adventure that we want for Emily because we ultimately want Emily to be able to have a better work/life balance. We want to have Emily be able to smile without condition. We want to see her beyond her vacay mode. And he comes at that perfect time,” Star told Tudum.

]]>Season 4 wrapped up with Emily (Lily Collins) moving into an apartment in Rome after being chosen to lead the Italian office of Agence Grateau. Creator Darren Star promises this doesn’t mean we won’t see Emily return to Paris – she’ll come back to the City of Love while still having a strong presence in Rome.
The new city brings a new love interest along, and Star is looking forward to exploring Emily’s relationship with Marcello (Eugenio Franceschini) in Season 5.
“Marcello is a whole other adventure that we want for Emily because we ultimately want Emily to be able to have a better work/life balance. We want to have Emily be able to smile without condition. We want to see her beyond her vacay mode. And he comes at that perfect time,” Star told Tudum.
In addition to Collins and Franceschini, Season 4 also starred Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu, Ashley Park, Lucas Bravo, Samuel Arnold, Bruno Gouery, Camille Razat, and Thalia Besson, but their return in Season 5 is yet to be confirmed.

]]>A Minecraft Movie stars Jason Momoa, Sebastian Eugene Hansen, Emma Myers, and Danielle Brooks as Garrett “The Garbage Man” Garrison, Henry, Natalie, and Dawn, four misfits who are suddenly pulled through a mysterious portal and transported to a bizarre, cubic wonderland known as the Overworld.
After running into an expert crafter Steve (Jack Black), they’ll embark on a magical quest through Overworld, and learn how to harness the power of their imagination and reconnect with the qualities that make them unique in an attempt to master this new world and find their way back home.
The cast of this movie also includes Jennifer Coolidge, Kate McKinnon, Jemaine Clement, and Matt Berry in mystery roles. Jared Hess was in charge of directing it, while Chris Bowman and Hubbel Palmer wrote the script, drawing inspiration from Mojang Studios’ best-selling video game of all time, with over 300 million copies sold worldwide.
A Minecraft Movie will be released by Warner Bros. Pictures on April 4, 2025.
